Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Dining table

The dining table every meal comes back to

The piece

Press a forearm on the corner.

Everyone runs the same test on a new table — forearm on the corner, a slow lean, waiting for flex. Ours answers with mortise-and-tenon joints, stretchers, full-thickness aprons, and the plain arithmetic of solid teak: a top it takes two adults to carry does not learn to wobble. There are no hanger bolts to re-tighten in month one, because no bolt is doing a joint's job.

In the dining room that steadiness disappears into use, which is the point. Cut a steak without the surface flexing, lean into the long argument, let a kid climb up after the crayons — the joints were cut for exactly this, once, in the workshop. My kids climb on it is the review this construction is aimed at.

  • Seats the weeknight four and the Thanksgiving twelve without flinching
  • Two-adult weight stays planted — no wobble to grow into
  • Oiled top shrugs off gravy, glitter glue, and sweating glasses
  • A gouge spot-sands out at home with fine paper and oil
  • Arrives a finished table — no allen key, no lost Saturday

It fits real homes.

The night the leaf goes in

Wednesday before Thanksgiving, nine at night. The extension leaf goes in for the first time since last November, and her palm rides the seam — still flush, still level. She counts chairs twice, then texts her mother: bring the folding ones anyway, we have room.

Homework headquarters

Four o'clock on a school day: long division in pencil at one end, a glitter-glue incident at the other. At six the homework clears, dinner lands on the same wood, and nobody panics about the marks — they sand out whenever you decide they should.

What makes the truck

July 31st, the busiest moving day in America. The movers wrap the teak table in blankets like it matters, because it does. The particleboard bookcase stays at the curb with a FREE sign taped to its third and final address.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop solid wood all the way through?
Every dining table here is solid wood through the entire top — teak and other dense hardwoods chosen for the one surface in the house that hosts homework, holidays, and everything between.
How do I choose the right size?
Tables are made to order, so we build to your seat count and room. Tell us the space and how many you host, and we will recommend a length and overhang.
What does setup involve?
The base attaches to the top with pre-fitted bolts and figure-eight fasteners that let the wood move with the seasons. Two people, twenty minutes, all hardware included.
How do I care for a daily-use table?
Wipe after meals with a damp cloth and dry. Use trivets under hot dishes, and expect to re-oil the top once or twice a year — a twenty-minute ritual that keeps it glowing.
How is a dining table shipped?
Dining tables are made to order and ship freight in a custom crate, top and base cradled separately. We provide tracking and schedule the delivery with you in advance.
Won't a solid wood table crack the first winter the heat comes on?
Rushed drying is what cracks tables — forced-air heat can drop a room below 25 percent humidity, and wood that still holds moisture moves. Our boards are chosen by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, then kiln-dried for twenty days at controlled temperatures, so the movement is finished before the first cut. Teak also shrinks about half as much as oak. Keep the table a couple of feet from a supply vent and it holds its shape through a Chicago January.
Can I set hot dishes on it, and what about water rings?
Straight-from-the-oven cookware gets a trivet, same as on any wood surface — everyday warmth from plates, mugs, and serving bowls is no concern. Spills wipe off the oiled teak without the ghosting that marks lacquered tops; red wine that sits overnight is a wipe, not a refinish. If a white ring ever forms under a sweating pitcher, a cloth and a warm dry iron lift it in about thirty seconds, and a light re-oil resets the surface completely.
