Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

A well-made table works for everyone who sits at it. The chair a 75-year-old can push up from without help is the standard, and we hold this website to the same one. We are working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across timbervintique.com, not because a checklist says so, but because a store you cannot navigate might as well be closed.

What is in place today

• Keyboard navigation throughout the site, so browsing, the cart, and checkout work without a mouse, with visible focus so you always know where you are on the page
• Descriptive alt text on product photography, written so the wood comes through in words: not "table, brown", but the grain, the joinery, the proportions a sighted shopper reads at a glance
• Dimensions, weights, and materials published as text on every product page, never locked inside an image a screen reader cannot open
• Text and background colors chosen for legible contrast, measured against WCAG ratios rather than eyeballed
• Reduced-motion settings respected: if your device asks for less animation, the site listens
• Consistent headings and page structure, so screen readers can move through a page the way sighted visitors scan it

What we are still working on

We would rather name the gaps than write around them. The catalog is large and some pages are older than others. A few tools we rely on, such as the payment forms inside checkout and some embedded players and widgets, come from third parties, and their accessibility is not fully within our control; where they fall short, we press the vendors and look for a workaround you can use in the meantime. We review the site regularly and fix what we find. Accessibility is part of how every new page starts, not something bolted on afterward, and a report from a visitor moves that page to the front of the line.

If the site is in your way

You should not need the website to buy from us. If any step of shopping here is difficult with your assistive technology, write to support@timbervintique.com and a person will handle it directly: read out the dimensions and weight of a piece, confirm wood and finish details, describe the color and grain honestly, and take your order over email from start to finish. Everything the site can answer, a person can answer too, at whatever pace the conversation needs.

If any part of this site is hard to use — a page that traps focus, an image that says nothing, a button a screen reader skips — write to support@timbervintique.com. Tell us the page and, if you can, the software and browser you were using, whether that is VoiceOver on a phone or JAWS on a desktop. A person reads every one of these messages, and the fixes they lead to make the store better for everyone who visits after you.
