Our story

Built by hand, one board at a time.

Timber Vintique is a small team of designers and woodworkers who believe the furniture in your home should be able to outlive you.

Why we still build with our hands.

Shaping solid wood by hand
Selecting hardwood boards

Timber Vintique started at one bench, with a wall of hardwood boards and a slow first commission: a console table that took three weeks of drawing, cutting and sanding before we would let it leave. That table still stands in its owner's hallway, and it still gets asked about.

We work the same way today. A designer studies the room a piece will live in. A woodworker chooses the one board whose grain has earned it. Nothing ships until both of them would put it in their own home.

From the forest to your front room.

The selection

The selection

Solid hardwood, chosen board by board by experienced selectors — then dried slowly in a controlled kiln, so the wood is done moving before we build.

The bench

The bench

Weeks of template work, joinery, and sanding through five grits before the first coat of oil goes on. No line leaves the bench unresolved.

The home

The home

Crated, delivered, set in place — and then the part we build for: the first evening it holds dinner, homework and the end of someone's day.

The makers

The people behind the grain.

There's no production line here. The person who plans your table's proportions has stood in rooms like yours; the person who oils its top has done it long enough to know exactly when the grain is ready to be left alone.

When your guests run a hand along the edge and ask where it came from, the honest answer is: from these hands, over many patient hours.
