Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Headboard panels

A headboard you build panel by panel

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A headboard you compose, one panel at a time.

Each twelve-inch panel is solid teak, chosen board by board for the swirl and figure worth hanging at eye level. A thirty-year selector pulls the stock, and twenty days in a controlled kiln take the moisture out, so panels hang flat and stay flat on a bedroom wall through winter heat. The maker cuts, hand-sands, and finishes each one on its own.

A printed headboard reads flat the moment the light moves; these do the opposite. Run a single row behind a queen or carry the panels floor to ceiling, and the wall gains real relief and shadow — a mosaic of one tree, not a repeated pattern. Buy the exact count your wall needs, and add more later without hunting for a match.

  • Modular twelve-inch panels — compose any width or height
  • Works as headboard, accent wall, or hallway run
  • Real depth and shadow, not a printed look
  • Buy exactly the panel count your wall needs
  • Volume pricing kicks in at twenty panels and up

It fits real homes.

The weekend wall

The weekend wall

Saturday morning, a level and a pencil and a stack of panels on the bed. Work outward from the center line, and by dinner the two of you have a headboard wall you laid out yourselves, panel by panel.

Reading against the grain

Reading against the grain

Propped up with a book on a cold night, your shoulders rest against warm teak instead of the chill of drywall. The bedside lamp throws small shadows across every swirl behind you.

First light across the panels

First light across the panels

Morning sun comes in low and rakes sideways across the wall, catching the relief at each panel edge. For a few minutes the grain does its best work of the day, and nobody's going anywhere for an hour.

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain fills each panel face — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, repeated across the wall. No two panels carry the same swirl.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into every panel face, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that never feels like plastic and softens the light instead of bouncing it.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, each panel hangs flat and stays flat when the furnace dries the bedroom to fifteen percent humidity.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors, teak deepens toward honey rather than graying — silvering takes outdoor sun and rain. A light sanding and fresh oil bring any panel's gold back anytime.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Selectors with thirty years at the stacks pull teak boards one at a time for figure worth framing at eye level, then dry them twenty days in a controlled kiln. Twisted, checked, or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Each panel is cut slightly proud of its square, then trued — leaving material for the handwork that brings its face and edges to final form.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Panel faces and edges are sanded through successive grits until each one feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right on the wall.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks flatness and finish on every panel before the batch ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the beds and headboards made of?
Solid hardwood throughout — no veneer or particleboard. Panels and frames in this collection use bolted wood-to-wood joints that tighten over the years instead of stripping out, and the faces can be re-oiled for decades rather than replaced.
How many panels do I need for my bed?
Each panel measures 12 by 12 inches and is sold individually. A single row behind a queen typically takes five; a king headboard wall two rows tall runs around fourteen. Orders of twenty panels or more receive 50 percent off.
How involved is assembly?
Panels mount directly to the wall with included hardware — no frame required. Snap a level line, work outward from the center, and most walls go up in an afternoon with two people.
What maintenance does a solid-wood bed need?
Dust the panels with a dry cloth and keep hard afternoon sun off the wall where you can, so the tones deepen evenly. A wipe of oil every year or two keeps the faces rich; kiln-dried teak holds flat through winter heat.
How does a bed frame ship?
Panels ship made to order in flat, heavily padded cartons, faces protected and separated. Photograph the carton on arrival and note any damage; tracking covers each one, so nothing arrives unaccounted for.
