Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Warm walnut where porcelain used to be

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A basin carved from walnut, sealed for daily water.

The bowl's profile borrows mid-century lines — a low, level rim over quiet curves — and each basin is carved from a single kiln-dried walnut blank, so no two ever repeat. Inside and out it wears a durable water-resistant, non-toxic coating rated for hot water, because a bathroom sink earns its keep every single morning.

Tile and porcelain hold whatever temperature the night left them. Wood does not: this is the material spas and steam rooms already trust in conditions wetter than any home bath, warm under the hands at six in the morning. It turns the most-used two minutes of the day into the one thing in the room no neighbor can duplicate.

  • Sits on any flat counter as a vessel basin
  • Sealed inside and out for hot water, daily
  • Rim profile and finish matched to your counter at order
  • Warm to the touch where porcelain and tile run cold
  • Pre-drilled for a standard drain; your plumber just connects

It fits real homes.

The 6:40 shift

The 6:40 shift

A school-morning bathroom queue, warm water swirling in the carved bowl, the rim mild where porcelain would bite. The first hands of the day land on wood, and the house starts a degree gentler for it.

Thanksgiving powder room

Thanksgiving powder room

Guests slip out between the turkey and the pie and come back with the same question — is that sink really wood? It is, carved singly, and no other house on the street has its twin.

Nine-thirty reset

Nine-thirty reset

End of a long day, face washed by lamplight, a quick towel pass over the bowl out of habit. Two minutes of the spa at home, and the bathroom fan does the rest overnight.

Teak, up close.

No two boards alike

Straight grain broken by curls and darker mineral streaks wraps the carved bowl — chocolate tones from the tree itself, never a stain, and they read differently in morning steam than under the evening vanity bulb.

No two boards alike

A hand-rubbed depth

Walnut polishes to a smooth, lustrous depth around the rim and basin walls — the surface that pulls a wet hand across it, warm where tile and ceramic run cold.

A hand-rubbed depth

Gunstock toughness

At about 1,010 on the Janka scale, walnut shrugs off dropped bottles and razors without turning brittle — and the kiln-dried blank has already done its moving before the carving begins.

Gunstock toughness

Mellows, never fades

Steam, light, and daily use settle the bowl into a warmer, more personal patina each year — deeper in tone, never tired, even through the most humid Augusts.

Mellows, never fades

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

A single dense hardwood blank is chosen for figure and soundness, dried until the moisture meter says done. Stock with twist, checks, or dull grain never becomes a basin.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The bowl is carved slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork that gives rim and hollow their final profile.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Rim, walls, and bowl are sanded by hand through five grits until every curve runs smooth under a wet palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

The water-resistant coating goes on in thin coats, cured between each. The maker tests seal and drain fit under running water before shipping.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Can a wooden sink actually hold water?
Yes. Each basin is carved from a single piece of dense hardwood and sealed inside and out with a waterproof, non-toxic marine-grade finish made for daily running water — the same logic that keeps wood serviceable on boat decks. Hot water is fine.
What sizes work with my counter?
Diameters and depths are made to order within plumbing-standard limits. Tell us your counter depth and faucet reach, and we will confirm a size that splashes less and drains well.
What does installation require?
Sinks arrive pre-drilled for a standard 1.75-inch drain and sit on any flat counter. A plumber completes the drain fitting; no special parts are needed.
How do I keep the seal healthy?
Towel or squeegee the bowl after heavy use, run the fan, and skip abrasive cleaners — dark spots on bath wood are mildew feeding on soap film sitting on the surface, not the wood failing. Reapply the recommended sealer yearly and the bowl stays waterproof.
How is a sink packed?
Every sink is made to order and ships foam-cradled in a rigid double-walled box. Photograph the carton before the driver leaves if it looks knocked about; if anything arrives wrong, we make it right. Tracking is emailed the day it ships.
Can drain or faucet holes be drilled to my measurements?
Yes. Share your hole measurements when you order and we drill them for you at the workshop, matched to your faucet and drain hardware, so the sink arrives ready for your plumber to connect.
