These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The designers set seat height and backrest angle for long sits, not quick perches. Then an artisan selects whole teak logs, keeps their natural contours where they belong, shapes seat and back by hand, and oils the wood to stand in weather without a cover. It is heavy — two adults move it — and that heft is the whole point outdoors.

Left in full sun and rain, teak silvers to a driftwood grey within a season — a paper-thin surface layer, not rot, and a light spring sanding brings the gold back if you miss it. Boards spend twenty days in a controlled kiln first, insects and their eggs gone with the heat, so the bench you set on the patio has already done its moving.

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the bench sits planted and true — no wobble to grow into through a wet Northwest spring or a bone-dry Denver August.

Left in the weather, teak silvers to a refined driftwood grey, a surface change only. A spring scrub with soapy water and fresh oil bring it back to gold anytime — either look is correct, and the choice stays yours year to year.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

Logs are chosen one at a time for sound heartwood and honest character, after twenty days in the kiln drive the moisture out. Cracked or dull stock never becomes a bench.

The shaping process

Seat and backrest are cut slightly proud of their lines, keeping the log's natural contours for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The seat is sanded through successive grits until it reads smooth against bare legs on a July afternoon, with no splinter left to find.

The final inspection

Finish goes on in thin coats. The maker rocks the bench on a flat floor to check stance and level, and fits the backrest before it leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Can these benches really live outside year-round?

Garden benches in this collection are solid teak — the same oil-rich wood used on ship decks — so they live outside year-round without paint, sealer, or a cover. In salt air the hardware on nearby furniture corrodes long before the teak ever complains.

What lengths do you build?

Standard lengths seat two or three, and custom lengths are available since each bench is made to order. Tell us the border, path, or porch it will live along.

Is assembly needed, and where should it sit?

Benches arrive assembled or with legs that bolt on in minutes — stainless hardware, included key. Set it on pavers or gravel rather than bare soil to keep the feet dry and the grain out of standing water.

Silver patina or golden teak — do I have to choose?

Left alone, teak weathers to silver-grey — the gray is a paper-thin layer, not rot, and a light spring sanding returns the gold. Prefer to keep it golden? Clean and re-oil once or twice a year instead. Either way the wood underneath stays sound.

How is a garden bench shipped?

Each bench is made to order, wrapped, and shipped boxed or crated by size with stainless hardware bagged inside. Photograph the crate before the driver leaves, and tracking is sent to you the day it ships.

How many people fit on the 51-inch bench?
