Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Queen bed frame

The bed the house settles around

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Built for the room where every day ends.

The frame is solid teak throughout, rails and headboard following soft curves with no hard corners anywhere. A selector chooses boards so the grain flows across the headboard, everything joins wood to wood with bolts you can tighten rather than replace, and the whole frame is finished by hand — built to outlast the mattresses it will carry.

This is the one piece you touch every single day, which is the argument for buying it once. Kiln-dried twenty days so it finished moving before the first cut, bolted so it does not creak or rack loose the way a flat-pack frame does by month three, it stays square and silent under restless sleepers. On slow mornings, light crossing the grain, you remember why you chose carefully.

  • Queen platform sized 60 by 80 inches
  • Curved edges — no hard corners on midnight walks
  • Bolted teak joints stay tight, no creak or rack
  • Solid teak resists warping and termites for decades
  • Headboard grain matched board to board

It fits real homes.

Saturday pile-on

Saturday pile-on

Seven a.m. Saturday, the door swings open, and kids and the dog land on the bed in one wave. The frame takes it without a creak — that was the design brief, and the bolted teak joints are why it holds.

Chapter and lamplight

Chapter and lamplight

Pillows stacked against the curved headboard, lamp turned low, twenty pages before sleep on a weeknight. The smooth teak rail, warm from the room, is the last thing a hand rests on most nights.

Morning light on grain

Morning light on grain

The bed made, curtains open on a Sunday, morning sun crossing the footboard rail. For a quiet minute the grain does what no throw pillow can — it makes the whole room look finished and settled.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain flows across the headboard boards and down the rails — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, warm to a shoulder leaned against it while reading.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the headboard and rails, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin where hands and pillows rest, and it arrives smelling of wood, not off-gassing in the bedroom.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood — about half that of oak — the frame stays square and silent through every dry-furnace winter.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone, teak drifts toward a refined silver-grey — a surface change only. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the headboard's gold back anytime, and indoors it deepens rather than greys.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak boards are pulled one at a time so grain flows across the headboard, then kiln-dried twenty days so the wood is done moving. Twist, checks, or dull figure never make the frame.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Rails and headboard are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork on every curve.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every rail and corner is rounded and sanded through successive grits until nothing on the frame meets a shin or a palm sharply.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, level, and stability before the frame is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the beds and headboards made of?
Solid teak throughout — no veneers or particleboard. Frames and headboards in this collection are joined with bolted wood-to-wood connections that can be tightened over the years rather than replaced, so the frame does not loosen into a creak.
Do you build custom sizes?
We do. Twin through California king are standard, and each frame is made to order, so headboard height, platform height, and non-standard mattress sizes can all be accommodated on request.
How involved is assembly?
Assembly takes two people about 45 minutes with the included hardware and hex key. Rails bolt to the headboard and footboard; slats drop in — no tools beyond what ships in the box.
What maintenance does a solid-wood bed need?
Retighten the frame bolts once a season for the first year, then yearly. Dust with a dry cloth and refresh the oil finish on the headboard where it sees hand contact — the oil spot-repairs a mark at home rather than peeling.
How does a bed frame ship?
Beds ship made to order in several flat, heavily padded cartons with every bolt bagged and labeled. Photograph the cartons before the driver leaves; tracking covers each one, so nothing arrives unaccounted for.
Is this the queen size, and are other sizes available?
The listed frame is a 60-by-80-inch queen platform. Because every frame is made to order, twin through California king can be built to the same curved design — tell us your mattress and we will confirm dimensions.
