Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Desk

A desk for the working hours

The piece

Forty hours a week on real wood.

Most desks are a laminate skin over a hollow core — surfaces that sag under a monitor arm by year three and cannot be sanded when the coating chips. This one is solid teak through the full thickness of the top: it can be worked hard, scratched, sanded back, and re-oiled for decades.

No other surface in the house logs more hours under your hands, and the difference registers daily in the home office — warm grain under the wrists instead of cold laminate, a knock that answers solid instead of hollow. Rap a knuckle on it the day it arrives. That sound is the spec sheet.

  • Top sized for a monitor, laptop, and an open notebook
  • Solid teak stays flat under monitor arms and elbows
  • Knee clearance takes a full office chair with arms
  • Oiled top wipes clean after coffee rings and long days
  • Arrives finished — working desk by lunch, no allen key

It fits real homes.

Monday, 8:04

Coffee lands on the coaster, the laptop opens, the calendar is already loud. The first ten minutes of the week happen here, and warm wood under the wrists keeps them civil.

The 8:58 backdrop

Two minutes before stand-up, the camera check: grain visible even through a laptop lens, nothing staged. Mid-meeting a coworker types it in the chat — where did you get that desk.

Homework hour

Four-thirty brings the backpack thump and the spread of worksheets. Long division digs pencil dents that nobody panics over — the desk hosts tonight's math and half a science project by Friday, and a spring re-oil erases the semester.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Desks in this collection carry solid-wood tops thick enough to stay flat over a 60-inch span, joined to hardwood legs or trestles — without particleboard anywhere in the build.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order.
How hard is assembly?
Legs or trestles bolt to pre-installed threaded inserts in the top — a fifteen-minute job for one person. The included hex key is the only tool you will need.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing if you like a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly. Either way, wipe with a damp cloth and re-oil yearly.
How does a desk arrive?
Desks ship made to order with the top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Tracking covers every box in the shipment.
Will it fit my chair, monitor arm, and doorway?
Desks in this collection sit at the standard working height of about 29 to 30 inches with clearance for a full office chair. Check the listing's width and depth against your monitor setup, and measure your narrowest doorway before ordering — then remember each piece is made to order, so the dimensions can be adjusted to the room instead of the other way around.
Coffee, keyboards, eight hours a day — how does the top hold up?
Better than a film finish, because oil fails gracefully instead of chipping. A white ring from a forgotten mug lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in under a minute; fine scratches spot-sand and re-oil at home in about ten minutes. Refresh the oil once or twice a year, when the surface looks thirsty, and the top stays a working surface, not a precious one.
