Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Home office desk

One curve from desktop to drawer

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A worksurface that flows from top to drawer.

The designers drew this desk as one continuous gesture — the top curving down into the drawer base, no hard corner breaking the line. An artisan matches the teak boards by tone under north light, shapes the long curve, and hand-sands it until it reads as a single form. The finish is oil, not lacquer: it marks honestly and spot-repairs at home in ten minutes.

Most home-office desks are particleboard doing an impression of wood, and by year two the sag under the monitor says so. This one is solid teak through the top and drawer fronts, kiln-dried twenty days before the first cut, heavy enough to stay planted while you type. Eight hours a day with your forearms on real wood — the workday ends, and the desk is still the best thing in the room.

  • Holds a monitor, laptop, and open notebook without crowding
  • Drawers close over chargers, pens, and the day's paper
  • Curved base clears a task chair's arms and casters
  • Coffee rings wipe off; scratches sand out in ten minutes
  • Finished on every side — floats mid-room, back to the sofa

It fits real homes.

Eight fifty-eight

Eight fifty-eight

Two minutes to the standup, coffee down on the teak, camera check. The desk reads calm on screen — one warm surface, no clutter — and a coworker asks about the grain before the agenda loads.

The five o'clock sweep

The five o'clock sweep

Chargers, sticky notes, and the day's paper drift into the drawers, and the top goes back to bare wood. In a living-room office, the drawer closing is the sound of the commute home.

Sunday, by hand

Sunday, by hand

No screens. A birthday card, a real pen, low afternoon light dragging the grain into relief. The ring from the coffee mug wipes off the oiled top before it can become a mark.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the desktop's length and catches low window light in long, even lines — calm on camera behind you, flat and warm under your wrists in front.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the worksurface and drawer fronts — a low satin your forearms rest on all day, never sticky even when August humidity beats the AC.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, dried through a twenty-day kiln cycle before the first cut, the top stays flat under monitors and elbows when the furnace runs all January.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Kept indoors, the desk holds its gold for decades and deepens slightly in a sunny room — teak's shift is mild and even where walnut visibly fades. A light sanding and fresh oil reset it to day one.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards for the top and drawer fronts are pulled one at a time and matched by tone under the workshop's north light. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The desk's continuous curve is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that follows.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The curve from top to base passes through five grades of sandpaper by hand until it feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker cycles every drawer, checks the top with a straightedge, and sights down the curve in raking light before the desk leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Solid wood through the build — this desk is teak in the top, curve, and drawer fronts, with no veneer, MDF, or particleboard anywhere. That is why the surface can be sanded and refinished for decades instead of replaced.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Tape the footprint on the floor before you decide — then add a standing-height build or cable grommets when you order.
How hard is assembly?
This desk arrives with the sculpted base and top joining with pre-fitted bolts — a twenty-minute job for one person with the included hex key, drawers fitted and ready. No wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad if you like a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly — an oil finish spot-repairs: fine sandpaper on the mark, a wipe of oil, ten minutes. Otherwise a damp cloth and one re-oil a year.
How does a desk arrive?
Desks ship made to order with the top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Tracking covers every box; photograph any dented carton before signing and we make damage right.
