Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Carved panel

Movement, carved still into teak.

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A carved panel that gives the lounge wall a current.

Layered carving opens fluid passages through the teak, so the panel reads one way from the sofa and another from the doorway. Our designers composed the curves to move the eye across the wall; the artisan carves each layer in sequence from solid stock — depth cut into the wood, not printed onto it — and sands the transitions until they flow.

A large print above the sofa goes flat under lamplight and dates the room the moment it is hung. This panel does the work a big canvas does, in grain instead of pigment, and gains tone as the room lives around it rather than losing it. It becomes the reason the lounge needs nothing else on that wall.

  • Big empty sofa wall? It carries it the way a canvas would
  • Layered depth changes with every lamp and every hour
  • Real carved relief — grain and shadow, not print
  • Hangs on a fitted cleat, level and secure
  • Needs no frame, glass, or companion pieces

It fits real homes.

Movie-night backdrop

Movie-night backdrop

Lights low, screen paused for refills, and the lamp catches the carved layers behind the sofa, throwing soft ridges of shadow. Someone new to the house asks to see it with the lights up before the movie starts again.

The morning sweep

The morning sweep

East light crosses the lounge wall between eight and nine, moving through the panel's openings inch by inch and warming the grain from dry amber to lit honey. Coffee lasts exactly as long as the show does.

Rearranging day

Rearranging day

The sofa moves, the rug rotates, the shelves swap sides — and the carved panel stays put on its cleat. Everything in the lounge gets arranged around the one thing already settled on the wall.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs through every carved layer — the calm figure that holds an abstract composition together and gives the raking lamplight a clean surface to travel across each evening.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more across the layered faces, deepening the golden tone so each carved level catches light a little differently — a low, hand-buffed sheen, never a sprayed gloss, and no chemical note in the room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the panel stays flat on the wall through a forced-air winter that drops indoor humidity to 20 percent and swings it back in a muggy August.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the layers deepen toward richer honey-amber; the gray patina only comes with outdoor sun and rain. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the carving back to first gold whenever a decade asks for it.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone across the panel's width and dried twenty days in a controlled kiln. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The composition is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the layered carving that builds the depth.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Each carved level is sanded by hand through successive grits until the transitions between layers flow without a ridge.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the cleat, the flatness, and the finish before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is the wall art made from?
It is carved from solid teak panels — real relief cut into the wood, so the piece has genuine depth and shadow, not a printed pattern over board. It deepens in tone as it ages instead of fading like a laminated print.
Can a piece be scaled to my wall?
Yes — dimensions scale to your wall since each piece is made to order. Send a photo of the space with rough measurements and we will suggest proportions; tape a paper outline first to judge the presence.
How does it hang?
Hanging hardware is fitted at the workshop — keyhole slots or French cleats by weight — with matching anchors for drywall or masonry in the box. Most pieces hang on two screws, level and flush to the wall.
Does wooden wall art need maintenance?
Dust with a soft dry brush or cloth, and keep it off walls with hard afternoon sun so the tone deepens evenly. Nothing to off-gas, nothing to refinish — that is the whole routine, year to year.
How does wall art ship?
Each piece is made to order and ships flat in a rigid, foam-lined carton with the hardware taped inside and packed like it matters. Photograph the carton on arrival, and tracking is emailed once it ships.
How high above a sofa should the panel hang?
A good rule is eight to ten inches above the sofa back, centered on the seating rather than the wall. Because each panel is made to order, we can also size it so it spans about two-thirds of your sofa's length — send the measurements and we will confirm.
