Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
Sweeping oak curves carry a softly upholstered seat, the open frame leaving the grain visible from every side. Our designers balanced the flowing silhouette against honest sitting comfort; the artisan selects each board for figure, shapes the sweep by hand, and pins the joints with mortise-and-tenon so the curves run without a seam and without a wobble.
An accent chair that is all sculpture and no comfort gets sat in once and admired from across the room forever after. This one earns its corner both ways: the seat is deep and padded, the oak frame carries a grown adult without a creak, and the joints were cut to hold when the furnace dries the room each January. Ten years in, the arms where hands rest read more settled, not worn.
An hour catching up with your sister, legs tucked sideways, cheek against the cushion. The curved back holds every position the call moves through, and your free hand keeps tracing the ray fleck along the arm without noticing.
Post-lunch sun on the rug, a throw pulled over your knees, twenty stolen minutes. The seat is deep enough that nobody wakes you on purpose, and the oak frame stays silent while you shift.
New guests circle the room once, then stop at the chair. They ask if the frame is one piece of wood, run a thumb down the sweep of the arm, sit down uninvited, and stay there past dessert.

Plain-sawn faces along the sweeping frame show bold cathedral arches; quarter-sawn stock shimmers with ray fleck — the figure behind a century of American Arts and Crafts furniture, and the pattern a resting palm keeps finding on the arm.
Oak's even, tannin-rich grain takes oil cleanly along every curve, without blotching — one continuous tone from armrest to floor. The chair arrives smelling of wood, not lacquer, with nothing to off-gas in the room where you sit each night.
Janka hardness near 1,350 and tyloses-plugged pores — the closed-cell structure of whiskey barrels and ship hulls — shrug off the swing between a bone-dry January and a humid August better than any open-pored softwood could.
Oak ages by gaining color and character, not wear. The arms where hands rest nightly warm to a deeper amber and grow smooth as river stone, looking more settled at year ten than the day the chair arrived.
Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone and grain across the frame's sweep after twenty days in a controlled kiln. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.
Each curve is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork that joins sweep to sweep.
The frame is sanded by hand through successive grits until the curves feel continuous under a sliding palm, not merely look continuous.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, seat fit, and stance before the chair is signed out.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
