Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Home office desk

A desk that closes at six

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A workday deserves a surface with intent.

The base is carved to move — an organic sweep that reads differently from every chair in the room — while the top stays dead level for actual work. Drawers tuck into the silhouette, every surface shaped and sanded by hand from solid teak. The soft ambient light along the base is built in, not added on.

Most home-office desks are particleboard doing an impression of furniture, sagging under a monitor by year three. This one holds a workday on solid teak — no hollow core to sag, nothing to off-gas beside your chair — and gets judged from both sides of the camera. At six the drawers close over the clutter, and the office turns back into a room you chose.

  • Drawers shut the workday's clutter out of sight at six
  • The solid-teak top stays level under monitor, laptop, and coffee
  • Built-in ambient glow marks the desk after dark
  • Reads as furniture on camera, not office equipment
  • Works in a dedicated office or a living-room corner

It fits real homes.

Six-forty start

Six-forty start

6:40, the house still dark, coffee down, laptop open by the base's low glow. Forearms rest on wood instead of cold laminate, and the best hour of work happens before the first ping, at a desk that was ready first.

Friday, six sharp

Friday, six sharp

Friday at six the workday ends with a physical act — papers and cables swept into the drawers, the top wiped bare to its low oiled sheen. Fifteen seconds, and the corner of the living room is a living room again.

Week four, no caption

Week four, no caption

A Tuesday in week four of the build, the phone buzzes: a photo of your actual top taking its first coat of oil, grain going from dry to lit. It gets forwarded to the family thread with no caption.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the desktop and drawer fronts — a calm field for the eyes between calls, warm under resting forearms.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into the worksurface and sculpted base. It arrives smelling like wood, not chemicals — there is nothing here to off-gas.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, kiln-dried twenty days at controlled temperature, the top stays level and the drawers slide true from furnace season to humid summer.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Under office light the desktop's gold only deepens — graying needs outdoor sun and rain. If years of forearms ever soften it, a light sanding and fresh oil restore it over a weekend.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled and matched by tone across top, drawers, and base in daylight at the racks; stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The sculpted base is traced from full-scale templates, then cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that fairs the sweep.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Worksurface, drawer fronts, and base are sanded by hand through successive grits until every edge feels right under a resting forearm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker cycles every drawer a dozen times, checks level and the lighting on the bench, then signs the desk out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Desks in this collection carry solid-wood tops thick enough to stay flat over a 60-inch span, joined to hardwood legs or trestles. There is no particleboard anywhere in the build — and so no formaldehyde-based adhesives either.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order.
How hard is assembly?
Legs or trestles bolt to pre-installed threaded inserts in the top — a fifteen-minute job for one person. The included hex key is the only tool you will need.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing if you want a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly — either way, a scratch spot-sands and re-oils in about ten minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth and re-oil yearly.
How does a desk arrive?
Desks ship made to order with the top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Tracking covers every box; note any crushed carton on the delivery receipt before signing.
How does the integrated ambient lighting work?
A soft ambient light is built into the design to trace the sculpted base in the evening, running from a standard household outlet. It is mood lighting for the room, not task lighting for the worksurface — pair it with your usual desk lamp.
