Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Live edge desk

A tree's edge along your workday

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Where the workday meets the tree line.

Two live-edge teak surfaces meet in an L, carried on steel legs that let the wood do the talking. The designers kept every structural line straight so the tree's own contour could stay wild; each artisan selects the slab, preserves its edge, and hand-sands the top to a working finish. It is a solid slab, not a photo of one printed on board.

This desk does not exist until you order it — no two slabs share an edge, so the one you receive is chosen for you. The build runs a few weeks, and you see photos of your actual top getting its first coat of oil along the way. Once it lands it carries more presence than office furniture has a right to, and colleagues on calls keep asking about the desk behind your shoulder.

  • L-shaped surface holds a full dual-monitor setup
  • Steel legs keep the slab rock-steady under typing
  • Live edge gives the room its focal point
  • Corner layout leaves the rest of the floor free
  • Solid teak top takes years of daily use

It fits real homes.

The long draft

The long draft

Two hours into the proposal, your wrist rests against the live edge — cool, uneven, unmistakably a tree. It is a strange, steady kind of company for deep work, and it beats the pressed square edge of every desk before it.

The corner command post

The corner command post

Monitors on the long wing, sketchbook and coffee on the short one, the steel legs holding all of it without a shiver. The whole project fits in one turn of the chair, and the corner the room used to waste is now the engine.

The on-camera question

The on-camera question

Halfway through a call, someone finally asks what the desk is. You tilt the camera down to the raw edge, and for a minute the meeting is about trees instead of the quarterly numbers.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of each slab, right up to where the live edge turns wild — the calm figure that made teak famous. No two edges are alike, so your top is the one-of-one proof, not a render.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the worksurface and along the raw edge, deepening the gold to a satin. It arrives smelling of wood and workshop, with no lacquer film to off-gas in a closed office.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, both wings stay flat when the furnace runs dry in winter and the AC cycles all summer — the swing that cups a lesser slab.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outdoors, teak weathers to a paper-thin silver-grey. Indoors it deepens toward honey instead; a light sanding and fresh oil bring the desktop's gold back whenever daily use dulls the working surface.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Slabs are chosen by thirty-year selectors for a live edge with real character and grain that runs clean across the working width, then kiln-dried twenty days. Dull stock is passed over.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The L is laid out to keep the best contour facing the room, then cut slightly proud for the handwork that follows.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The top is sanded flat through five grits while the live edge is eased just enough to welcome a resting forearm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the steel base, level, and finish before the desk ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
A solid live-edge teak top on a welded steel leg frame — the slab carries the character, the steel carries the load, and there is no particleboard anywhere. The top refinishes at home for decades, which a veneer never could.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order.
How hard is assembly?
Legs bolt to pre-installed threaded inserts in the top — a fifteen-minute job for one person, with the included hex key the only tool you need. No wordless diagram, no leftover screw.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing for a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly and spot-sand them out later. Either way, wipe with a damp cloth and re-oil yearly.
How does a desk arrive?
Made to order, top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Photograph the boxes before the driver leaves and note any damage; tracking covers every carton in the shipment.
