Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Chaise lounge

One long exhale, in solid teak

The piece

Built for the art of doing nothing.

The sculptural base was drawn and redrawn until the curve carried a reclining body without a single straight prop. It is cut from solid teak that spent three slow weeks drying in a controlled kiln, then faired by hand — which is why the lounge holds a full recline in silence, with no creak to report and no bolts to retighten.

Most living rooms have seating for everyone and a seat for no one in particular. This claims a window and makes its purpose plain: one person, one book, one hour. The family starts negotiating for it within a week, and the owner learns the best argument in the house is a comfortable one.

  • Gives one reader a claimed seat in a busy house
  • Finished on every side — floats free of walls
  • Upholstered contour carries a full recline without props
  • Turns a bay window or corner into a destination
  • Cushion covers wash; the teak base wants one yearly oiling

It fits real homes.

The Sunday drift

The Sunday drift

Sunday, early afternoon, October sun across the seat and a book losing its battle with a nap. The curved base holds the recline exactly where the body wants to give up.

The 3 am shift

The 3 am shift

Newborn weeks, 3 am, the streetlamp doing the lamp's job. The chaise holds the feed in full recline without one creak from the solid teak base — silence being the entire job at that hour.

The contested seat

The contested seat

Thanksgiving, 4 pm, football murmuring in the next room. Whoever reaches the chaise first gets the post-dinner nap — this year, the uncle who swore he was only resting his eyes.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight teak grain runs the length of the curved base — a calm figure that follows the sweep from the floor up and catches the window light along the fair line.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

The base takes a hand-rubbed oil finish deep into teak's own oils, glowing a warm satin exactly where ankles and hands brush it daily — smooth, never sticky in a humid August.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with about half the seasonal movement of oak, the base carries a reclining adult without flex through winter heat and summer damp.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the gold deepens with the years rather than fading; a fresh coat of oil keeps the base rich where the window light falls on it every afternoon.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards for the base are pulled and matched at the rack so the grain follows the curve — twisted or dull stock never makes it.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The base's sweep is traced from full-size templates and cut proud of the line, leaving material for the long hand-fairing that follows.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The curve is faired and sanded by hand through five grits until a palm can travel end to end without a single catch.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats; the maker sits, reclines, and rocks the loaded lounge, checks for flex and level, then signs it out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is under the cushions?
Sofa frames in this collection are solid hardwood with joined corners — no staples into particleboard — under cushions cased in removable, washable covers. The frame is the part built for decades; the covers are the part built for real life.
Can I customize the size and fabric?
Yes. Frames are built to order, so length, depth, and arm style adjust to your room. Fabric options are shared as physical swatches before we begin the build — colors on a screen and colors in your window light are different things.
What assembly and capacity should I expect?
Legs thread on in minutes; everything else arrives assembled. Two people should carry the frame — solid teak reads on a scale, and that weight is why nothing racks loose. Capacity is rated conservatively; a full recline is the design case, not the limit.
How do I maintain it?
Vacuum under cushions monthly, rotate them for even wear, and wash covers per their tag. The exposed teak wants only a dry cloth and a yearly coat of oil — twenty minutes, done at home, no refinisher ever needed.
How is a sofa delivered?
Sofas are made to order and ship freight — bagged, blanket-wrapped, and crated. Photograph the crate before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt; we provide tracking and arrange a delivery appointment for every order.
Where does a chaise lounge work best in a room?
It is finished on every side, so it does not need a wall — beside a window for reading light, at the foot of a bed, or angled in a living-room corner. Allow clearance for the full recline and a small side table within arm's reach.
