Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · L-shaped desk

Two clean surfaces, one quiet corner

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A workspace that keeps its calm when the day does not.

Built from solid teak blocks joined into two broad wings, this desk turns a corner into a working room of its own. Our designers drew the L until each side earned its width; the artisans match every board by grain, soften the edges by hand, and rub oil into the surface. No particleboard core, no printed top — teak all the way down.

Most home-office desks are laminate over sawdust that swells the first humid August and never sits flat again. This one starts as boards dried twenty days in a controlled kiln, so both wings stay true through the seasonal swing that warps lesser furniture. When a colleague on a video call asks what it is made of, you get to say solid teak, and mean every inch.

  • L-shape claims the corner most rooms leave dead
  • Separate zones keep screen work and paper work apart
  • Integrated compartments keep cables and clutter off the top
  • Solid teak takes keyboards, mugs, and elbows every day
  • Reads as furniture, not equipment, in a shared room

It fits real homes.

The 8:58 standup

The 8:58 standup

Two minutes before the daily call, the laptop opens on the long wing and the shelf behind reads calm on camera — one focal point, no clutter. A coworker asks about the grain before anyone shares a screen.

Sunday at the short wing

Sunday at the short wing

The bills, the school forms, the letter you keep meaning to write — they live on the second surface all week and get cleared in one Sunday sitting, while the work wing stays untouched and ready for Monday.

Clear desk, clear evening

Clear desk, clear evening

Friday at six, the built-in compartments swallow chargers, notebooks, and the week's loose ends in a single pass. You leave a bare teak surface behind, and the workday does not follow you into the weekend.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of both worksurfaces — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. It photographs warm behind you on every call, where sterile finishes read cold.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the desktop, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. Low-VOC and nothing to off-gas, so a spare bedroom office does not smell of new furniture for weeks.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, both wings stay flat when the furnace runs all winter and the AC cycles all summer — the swing that loosens joints in cheaper desks.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outdoors, teak weathers to a paper-thin silver-grey. Indoors it deepens toward honey instead; a light sanding and fresh oil bring the desktop's gold back anytime a decade of elbows dulls it.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Blocks for both wings are pulled by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone and grain, then kiln-dried twenty days so the L reads as one surface. Twisted or checked stock never qualifies.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Each wing is traced from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that softens every edge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Worksurfaces and edges are sanded by hand through five grits until a forearm can rest anywhere on the desk without finding a hard line.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks fit, level, and finish before the sections are signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Solid teak, tops thick enough to stay flat over a 60-inch span, joined to hardwood legs — no particleboard, no MDF, no printed veneer anywhere in the build. It can be sanded and re-oiled for decades, which a laminate top cannot survive.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order.
How hard is assembly?
It ships separated into individual sections so the solid blocks travel safely, then joins with the included hardware — plan on two people and an unhurried hour, no wordless diagrams and no leftover screw.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing for a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly and spot-sand them out later. Either way, wipe with a damp cloth and re-oil yearly.
How does a desk arrive?
Made to order, top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Photograph the boxes before the driver leaves and note any damage on the receipt; tracking covers every carton.
