Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Cat tree tower

Furniture your cat gets to claim

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A climbing tree built like furniture, because it is.

The designers drew this tower the way an old tree grows — a trunk, reaching limbs, platforms where a branch would rest a body. Artisans pick aged teak for each limb, send it twenty days through the kiln so it stays rigid and insect-free, round every edge by hand, and finish the wood smooth so paws and palms read the same surface.

Most cat trees are carpet-wrapped cardboard you shove in the spare room before company arrives. This one stands seventy inches tall in the living room and takes a sixty-pound leap without a shudder — solid limbs, a weighted base, claw marks that spot-sand out in about ten minutes. Guests read it as a sculptural shelf until the cat proves otherwise, and no one apologizes for it.

  • Seventy-inch climb with platforms at staggered heights
  • Solid limbs take a large cat's running leap
  • Doubles as a display tree for plants and books
  • Smooth pet-safe oil finish — no carpet to shred
  • Belongs in the living room, not the spare room

It fits real homes.

The nine a.m. sunbeam

The nine a.m. sunbeam

The top platform catches the morning window light, and the cat has the schedule memorized. By nine she is up the trunk and folded into the warm spot, on duty until lunch — the wood warm under her, never cold like a metal perch.

Not what they expected

Not what they expected

A first-time visitor compliments the branch shelf by the window. Then the cat pours herself down two platforms to inspect the newcomer, and the compliment turns into questions about where a cat tree like that comes from.

The eight p.m. sprint

The eight p.m. sprint

Every evening, the same burst — a tear down the hallway, a leap to the low limb, a scramble to the top. The tower takes the landing without a wobble, night after night, the base planted where it was set.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs up the trunk and along every limb — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, warm to the touch on a cold floor.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub a pet-safe finish into every platform and branch, a warm satin that never feels like plastic under a paw and gives off no chemical smell in the room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the trunk and limbs stand rigid under a running leap through every heating season.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Years of window sun may drift the platforms toward silver-grey — a surface change only, never structural. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the gold back anytime.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Trunk and limb stock is pulled from aged teak, chosen for figure and soundness, then kiln-dried until the meter says done. Wood with checks, twist, or dull grain never climbs.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Limbs and platforms are cut from templates slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that rounds every climbing edge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every platform, branch, and edge is sanded by hand through successive grits until nothing catches a palm — or a paw pad.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Pet-safe oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker load-tests platforms and checks the base before the tower ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What makes these different from carpeted cat trees?
Each tower is a real branching trunk or solid teak build, sanded smooth and finished with pet-safe oil — furniture your cat climbs, not carpet-wrapped cardboard you hide when guests come. When the wood scuffs, it sands and re-oils; carpet only frays.
How stable are they for large cats?
Very. Wide, weighted bases and solid limbs keep the tower planted under a running leap from across the room — the mass is what does it, not a plastic clip. For enthusiastic climbers we include a wall strap for extra insurance.
Is there assembly involved?
Most towers arrive in two or three sections that bolt together in under twenty minutes. Platforms come pre-attached; you fasten the sections and position the weighted base — hardware bagged and labeled, no wordless diagrams.
What about claw marks and cleaning?
Vacuum platforms and wipe the wood with a dry or barely damp cloth. Claw marks are part of the story, but a light sanding and oil erases them at home whenever you choose — no refinisher, about ten minutes with a rag.
How do the towers ship?
Towers are made to order and packed in sectioned, padded cartons with hardware bagged inside the base. Tracking follows by email the day your order leaves the workshop; photograph the carton if it arrives crushed and write support@timbervintique.com.
How big is this tower, and will it suit multiple cats?
This build stands 70 inches tall with a spread of about 60 inches — platform room for two or three cats to hold separate territories on one tree. Eight-foot ceilings leave plenty of clearance.
