Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coffee table

The coffee table that outlasts the sofa

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Built low and solid, to be the center of the room for decades.

The designers kept this table low and long, proportioned to sit a hand's width below a sofa cushion. The makers take it from there: teak boards matched for tone, shaped by hand, sanded through five grits, oiled to a low satin. The top is solid through its full thickness — heavy enough that moving it is a two-person job, and that is the point.

If the last coffee table arrived flat in a box and flexed the first time feet went up, this one is the correction. Solid teak takes the mugs, the dip, the board games — and when a mark finally lands, ten minutes of fine sandpaper and oil erase it at home. Years in, you will still be glad you chose the heavy one.

  • Low top lands within reach of any sofa cushion
  • Full-thickness solid top — no flex under feet or board games
  • Oiled teak wipes clean after sweating glasses and Friday spills
  • Clearance underneath for baskets, books, and remote clutter
  • Scratches spot-sand and re-oil at home in ten minutes

It fits real homes.

Saturday, first coffee

Saturday, first coffee

Mug down on bare teak, no coaster panic. The dog's tail sweeps the corner on its way to the window and nobody flinches — a sweating glass and a confident tail both wipe away in the nine a.m. sun.

Fourth-quarter traffic

Fourth-quarter traffic

Super Bowl Sunday, fourth quarter. Seven-layer dip at center table, a sweating bottle ringing the corner nobody is watching, feet up at the two-minute warning. Monday morning it all wipes off with the crumbs.

The fort foundation

The fort foundation

Snow day, school canceled. Blanket over the top, cushions against the legs, the table turned architecture until dinner. Solid teak holds still while the walls lean on it — no wobble to bring the fort down.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the full length of the top and picks up a soft sheen under low lamplight — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into the top until it glows satin under a tracing palm. Spills bead and wipe — red wine left overnight comes off with a cloth, not a refinish.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Boards spend twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln before the first cut, so the wood has already done its moving. When the furnace drops the house to desert-dry January air, the low top stays flat and true.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the top will not silver — it deepens toward honey with the years. Any tired patch sands back and re-oils in minutes, so year ten can look like year one whenever you choose.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards for the top are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, matched by tone and grain. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The low profile is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork on every edge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The top and edges are sanded by hand through five successive grits until they feel right against an open palm, not merely look right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the top with a straightedge and rocks the base on a level bench before the table leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop really solid wood?
Solid wood through the full thickness of the top — no veneer, no MDF, no particleboard anywhere in the build. That is why it can be sanded and refinished for decades, which a veneer top cannot survive, and why teak's natural oils shrug off the sweating glasses a coffee table lives with.
Can I adjust the size or height?
Standard sizes fit most sofas, but each table is built after you order, so length, height, and shape can be adjusted. Two inches lower for a deep sofa is a common request — tell us the seat height and we do the math.
How much assembly is required?
Most designs arrive fully assembled — a finished table, not a kit. A few ship with legs off to protect them in transit; those bolt on in minutes with the included key. No wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How do I care for the top?
Coasters are optional. Wipe spills when you see them; a white ring that does form lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in under a minute. A thin coat of oil once or twice a year — when the surface looks thirsty — keeps the top rich.
How are coffee tables delivered?
Coffee tables are made to order, wrapped, corner-blocked, and crated when size demands. Freight deliveries are scheduled ahead, tracking comes at dispatch, and if the packaging ever looks rough, photograph it before you sign — we make damage right.
Can this table also work as a large center or end piece?
Yes. Because length and height are built to order, the same design scales from a compact end table beside a reading chair up to a large center table for a full sectional. Tell us the sofa it will serve and we will size it to sit a hand's width below the cushion.
