Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Branch wall lamp

One teak branch, the whole wall

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The lamp that grew, limb by limb.

The designers let the form spread the way a real limb does — reaching, dividing, thinning at the tips — then set the light to outline every curve. Each branch is cut along the board so grain runs base to tip, shaped by hand from solid teak, then joined, oiled, wired, and run lit before crating. The bulb is included; the plug is left off for whatever your outlet needs.

A tall blank wall is the hardest surface in a house to solve — framed art sits flat on it, shelves just make it busy. A branch of lit teak gives the wall a horizon line instead, drawing the eye up and out while the glow stays soft enough for a nursery. You will catch yourself leaving it on longer than the room strictly needs. That is the piece doing its work.

  • One soft fixture replaces two nightstand lamps
  • Outlines its own curves instead of glaring down
  • Fully wired, bulb included — attach your own plug
  • Branching spread fills a tall blank wall
  • Dim enough for nurseries, warm enough for hallways

It fits real homes.

Saturday, eight a.m.

Saturday, eight a.m.

Low autumn sun crosses the headboard and finds the branches first; after dark the built-in glow retraces the same route up the wall. Coffee on the nightstand, last night's book still open, and nobody is going anywhere for an hour.

The full house

The full house

Thanksgiving weekend, every bed taken, the stair landing glowing for whoever pads down for water at midnight. The branches throw slow shadows across the runner and no one reaches for the overhead — the house stays asleep even while it is awake.

Three a.m. feed

Three a.m. feed

The nursery at three in the morning, the only light a soft wash from the branch on the wall — enough to see by, dim enough that everyone goes back down easy. The switch clicks quieter than the crib springs.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain follows each branch from base to tip — trace one limb with a finger and the grain travels with you the whole way, faintly warm where painted metal would run cold.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more along every limb, a warm satin that softens the lamp's glow — and the first night it is up, the room smells faintly of oiled wood instead of new-fixture plastic.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the branching structure keeps its reach through furnace winters — the boards were dried until the moisture meter said done before shaping began.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Outdoors teak silvers; on an indoor wall it deepens slowly toward honey, a shade richer each year under the bulb's mild warmth. A light sanding and thin oil return the fresh-cut gold whenever you want it back.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak is picked branch by branch for grain that follows the reach of each limb — the maker sights down every board like an arrow shaft. Twisted or checked stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The spreading form is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — material held back for the handwork that tapers every tip by rasp.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Each limb is sanded by hand through successive grits until the tapers feel right against an open palm — the finest tips finished between two fingers, the only clamp that will not crush them.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker wires the lamp, runs it lit, and flexes every joint by hand before it leaves the workshop — the wiring ships proven.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How does the branch lamp mount?
It mounts to a standard wall box, or hangs on a discreet cord to a nearby outlet — the listing says which. The bracket and hardware for your piece are included, and it arrives ready to hang, not as a bag of parts.
Is it hardwired or plug-in, and who should install it?
The listing states which, and it is confirmed before shipping; the wiring follows US standards, run lit on the bench before crating so it ships proven, not presumed. For a hardwired piece, a licensed electrician is the safe way to connect it to the wall box; a plug-in version reaches an outlet on its cord.
What bulb does it take?
It ships fully wired with the bulb noted on the listing included. An LED of the same fitting drops in and runs cool — gentle on the teak around each socket — and stays dim enough for a nursery, warm enough for a hallway.
Can the spread be adjusted to my wall?
Yes — the spread and orientation are set when you order, because each lamp is built after you do: wider over a headboard, taller for a stair landing. Send the wall's measurements and we will build the reach to them.
Will the thin branches warp or crack over time?
Thin teak is where rushed drying shows itself — a limb still holding moisture will twist once the furnace runs. Before shaping, every board is hand-picked by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, then kiln-dried for twenty days at closely held temperature, which drives the moisture out and settles any insects and their eggs. The wood has finished moving before it is cut, so a limb keeps its reach. Mount it a couple of feet from a heat vent and it holds.
How does it ship?
Every lamp is made to order and packed in a foam-fitted box with each limb cradled separately. Tracking is sent the day it ships; unpack over a soft surface, check every tip before the box goes out, and if anything arrives damaged we make it right.
