Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Lighted wall art

Carved teak that glows after dark

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Carved by hand, lit from within.

A carver layers the landscape beneath the eclipse star by star, then the LEDs are set to graze the contours rather than flood them — the glow traces exactly what the chisel did. That trick only works in solid wood, and only in boards dried through a twenty-day kiln cycle, so the relief never opens along a seam under the light.

Most living rooms have two settings after sunset — the big overhead glare, or the dark. This is the third: a low, warm glow that holds the wall from dusk until the last person heads upstairs. By day it reads as sculpture; by nine it is a night sky, and the owner planned both from the start.

  • Replaces a harsh overhead lamp for the whole evening
  • Sculpted relief by day, night sky after dark
  • Hangs on fitted hardware in minutes — renter-friendly
  • LEDs graze the carving, never your eyes
  • Care is a soft dry cloth, nothing else

It fits real homes.

The dusk switch-on

The dusk switch-on

December, 5:15, dark before dinner. The eclipse comes on as the laptop closes, and the living room changes register — the honest end of the working day, marked by one switch.

Movie night, lights low

Movie night, lights low

Friday film night, every lamp off but this one. The carved stars keep just enough light in the room to find the popcorn bowl without pausing the movie.

The renter's fixture

The renter's fixture

Fourth apartment in six years, walls landlord-beige again and off-limits to paint. Two screws, ten minutes, and the eclipse claims the living room — the one piece of light in the lease that is actually theirs.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight teak grain runs beneath the carved sky, and after dark the grazing LED gives the grain itself a second, smaller shadow along every ridge.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak's own natural oils take the hand-rubbed finish deeply, so the lit contours glow a warm satin rather than shine like plastic — up close it smells of oiled wood, not electronics.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, kiln-dried until its movement is finished, the panel stays flat through furnace-dry winters — which is what keeps the LED line even.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Kept indoors the golden tone deepens rather than fades; a light re-oiling in an afternoon brings the carved ridges back to full depth under the glow.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are matched by tone at the rack so the night sky reads as one surface; dull or twisted stock never reaches the carving bench.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The landscape and eclipse are traced, then carved in layers with gouges sized to each band of the scene, leaving depth for the light to catch.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every ridge and star is sanded by hand until the surface reads even under a palm and under the LED glow — the light forgives nothing.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats; the maker runs the lighting, checks every contour under it, confirms the hanging hardware, and signs the panel out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is the wall art made from?
Solid-wood panels, carved and joined — the depth is chisel-cut, not printed. Because the wood is solid all the way through, the surface can be re-oiled for decades, which no printed or veneered panel survives.
Can a piece be scaled to my wall?
Yes — each piece is carved after you order, so dimensions scale to your wall. Send a photo of the space with rough measurements and we will suggest proportions before the build starts.
How does it hang?
Hanging hardware is fitted at the workshop — keyhole slots or French cleats by weight — with matching anchors in the box. Most pieces hang on two screws in under ten minutes.
Does wooden wall art need maintenance?
Dust with a soft dry brush or cloth, and give it a wall without hard afternoon sun so the tone mellows evenly over the years. The oiled surface can be refreshed anytime; nothing else is required.
How does wall art ship?
Each piece is made to order and ships flat in a rigid, foam-lined carton with corner protection, the hardware taped inside. Check the carton before the driver leaves; tracking is emailed at dispatch.
What does it look like with the light off?
It stands fully on its own as a carved relief — the landscape, eclipse, and field of stars read clearly in natural daylight and shadow. The LED glow is the evening layer, not the whole piece.
