Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
Each panel is carved by hand from solid hardwood — kiln-dried first, so the folds hold their line — the rhythm worked until it catches light the way water does. Golden grain runs through the ridges while the edges finish in deep charcoal, so the carving reads with real contrast across an entry. Hand-shaped means no two panels repeat.
An entry gets about three seconds to say something, and a framed print says it flat. This meets arriving guests with actual depth — shadows that move with the day across sixteen carved inches — hung flush on a hidden mount with nothing to maintain but dust. The wall stops being drywall and starts being the welcome.
Coats half off, a December dinner party arriving two at a time — and every pair of eyes goes to the carved waves before the hellos finish. A small entry gets one chance at a first impression; this is it, handled.
At 7 am the hall light grazes the folds sideways and the whole panel deepens; by dinner the shadows have crossed it entirely. A slow show the hallway runs daily, free, on the same sixteen inches that never quite repeat themselves.

Tight, even grain runs through every carved fold, so the golden figure follows the waves instead of interrupting them — run a fingertip along one ridge and grain and carving travel together the whole way.
The hardwood is lightly treated by hand — no thick lacquer to fill the carving — so its natural warmth carries the ridges while the deep charcoal edges frame the panel. It hangs with no finish smell at all.
Dense hardwood, kiln-dried before carving, holds the folds crisp for decades — the panel hangs flat through humid Augusts and furnace-dry Januarys, and the shadow lines stay as sharp as the day it was cut.
The golden tones mellow gently with years of indirect light — a surface change only. Keep it off walls with hard afternoon sun so the shift stays even, and the charcoal-and-gold contrast holds rich for decades.
Panels are chosen for grain that will flow with the carving — figure that follows a wave reads better than figure that fights it — and set aside until fully dry.
The wave pattern is drawn onto the blank, then carved slightly proud of the final depth, leaving material for the finishing handwork.
Every fold is refined and sanded by hand through five grits until each ridge is smooth under a thumb, its shadow line clean and deliberate.
The finish is applied and the charcoal edges detailed by brush under a raking work light. Mounting is fitted, and the panel is checked flat against the bench before it leaves the workshop.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
