Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Driftwood wall art

Lines drawn by years of weather

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The seasons did the carving; a maker did the composing.

Weathered teak root sections are gathered, dried, and studied before a single cut. The artisan trims only what the years left weak, joins the strongest twisted forms into one flowing panel, and hand-finishes the surface so every hollow and knot keeps the history that shaped it — solid wood throughout, no two sections alike.

An entry sets the tone before anyone says hello, and a mass-printed canvas says very little. This panel does the opposite. Kiln-stabilized so it holds its shape off the salt air where the driftwood started, it is the first thing anyone sees from the door. Somewhere in every visit a guest steps closer to work out how the pieces meet, and rarely can, which is the pleasure.

  • Commands an entry, stair wall, or office backdrop
  • Deep relief comes alive under raking side light
  • Hangs on workshop-fitted hardware, two screws into studs
  • Each panel is a one-time composition, never repeated
  • Care is a soft brush and nothing more

It fits real homes.

The front-door pause

The front-door pause

Guests step in on a winter evening, coats half off, and stop — the driftwood panel is the first thing the hallway offers. Introductions run a few seconds longer than planned, a hand drifting up to the smoothed hollows every time.

Lamplight texture

Lamplight texture

After dark, one lamp grazes the panel from the side and the hollows go deep. The room gets quieter for it, the way rooms with fireplaces do, the oiled ridges catching a low, warm line of light.

The video-call backdrop

The video-call backdrop

Eight-fifty-eight on a Tuesday, the laptop opening below it, and every call starts the same way: what is that behind you. It reads calm on camera — one focal point, no clutter — and ten working years from now it still will.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Under the weathered surface, teak's tight, even grain runs calm through every root section — the figure collectors ask for by name. Where hands reach it is sanded cool and smooth; elsewhere the honest weather texture stays.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the twisted faces, deepening the tone to a warm satin without hiding a single knot, and the wood smells faintly of itself rather than of a finishing room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, these root forms stay exactly as composed — no seasonal twisting on the wall when the furnace dries the house each January.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Teak weathers toward a refined silver-grey, and some of these roots arrived that way already. Where the gold shows, a wipe of oil keeps it; leave it and it drifts silver. The choice stays yours.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Driftwood and root sections are kiln-dried and sorted for strength and line, the heat killing any insects and their eggs. Anything soft, brittle, or shapeless never enters a composition.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The chosen forms are arranged and joined into one panel, trimmed slightly proud — leaving material for the handwork on every twist.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Surfaces are hand-smoothed through successive grits where hands will reach, while the weathered texture is left honest everywhere else.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. Joints, hanging hardware, and balance are checked before the panel leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What is the wall art made from?
It is solid teak root and driftwood throughout — cleaned, dried, joined, and arranged, never a printed pattern over board. The real depth and shifting shadow come from actual wood; a flat print cannot cast them.
Can a piece be scaled to my wall?
Yes — dimensions scale to your wall since each piece is made to order. Send a photo of the space with rough measurements and we will suggest proportions.
How does it hang?
Hanging hardware is fitted at the workshop — keyhole slots or French cleats by weight — with matching anchors in the box. Most pieces hang on two screws.
Does wooden wall art need maintenance?
Dust with a soft dry brush or cloth, and keep it off a wall with hard afternoon sun so the tones shift evenly. Nothing else is required year to year — no oiling schedule for a piece that never gets wet.
How does wall art ship?
Each piece is made to order and ships flat in a rigid, foam-lined carton with the hardware taped inside. Tracking is emailed to you once the carton ships.
Is the driftwood treated for indoor use?
Yes. Every root section is cleaned, kiln-dried, and stabilized before joining, then finished for indoor display; the kiln heat also destroys any insects and eggs. The weathered texture stays, but anything soft or brittle never makes it into the composition.
