Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · L-shaped desk

The corner most rooms waste, working

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A workstation that turns the corner into territory.

The designers laid the L around real work: a continuous teak top flowing across both wings, open shelving where reference books live, drawers where clutter goes to disappear. The boards are grain-matched across the corner joint and kiln-dried twenty days, so a span this long stays flat under monitors straight through a forced-air winter.

A few years of working off the kitchen table teaches you what a desk is really for: territory. This one claims the corner most rooms waste and hands you both wings of it — laptop on one, monitor on the other, coffee in the crook. The marks it earns sand out and oil back in; most owners let them stay.

  • Continuous top spans both wings, no seam under a forearm
  • Books within reach? Open shelves keep files one turn away
  • Side drawers clear the surface at day's end
  • Corner takes two monitors, laptop, and lamp at once
  • Marks sand out and oil back in — ten minutes

It fits real homes.

The two-screen morning

The two-screen morning

Monday, 8:15, laptop on one wing, monitor on the other, coffee in the crook of the L. You swivel between them all morning and never once shuffle a pile to make room for the keyboard.

Homework hour

Homework hour

Four o'clock on a school day. You take the long wing, your kid takes the short one, and for forty minutes the corner holds long division and a status report side by side. Pencil dents sand out; most stay.

The April spread

The April spread

Tax Sunday. Receipts on one wing, laptop on the other, the folder of forms flat in the corner where nothing has to be stacked on anything. The whole miserable job finishes an hour early with room to spare.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the length of both wings and carries across the corner joint, so the surface reads as one long board. Hours in, your eyes rest on wood instead of glare.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into the worksurface and shelf faces. It lands warm under a bare forearm on a January morning — a satin that never sticks to skin the way lacquer does in a humid August.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, both spans stay flat under monitors, books, and elbows — through two winters of forced-air heat, nothing has opened at the corner.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the desktop will not silver — it deepens toward honey where your forearms and the window light meet it most. A light sanding and fresh oil erase the years, or keep them; both are ten-minute choices.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time at the lumber stacks and matched so grain flows across the corner joint. Twisted stock never becomes a desktop.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Both wings, shelves, and drawer boxes are cut from workshop templates, left slightly proud of the line for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The worksurface and every edge a forearm meets are sanded through five grits until they feel right against skin, not just a palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks level across both wings with a straightedge and runs every drawer before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Desks in this collection carry solid-wood tops thick enough to stay flat over a 60-inch span, joined to hardwood legs or trestles — no particleboard anywhere in the build, which is why the surface can be sanded and re-oiled instead of replaced.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order — tell us which wall each wing follows and where the outlets sit.
How hard is assembly?
Legs or trestles bolt to pre-installed threaded inserts in the top — a fifteen-minute job for one person, and the included hex key is the only tool. No wordless diagrams, no leftover hardware.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing if you like a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly — a scratch spot-sands and re-oils at home in about ten minutes. Wipe with a damp cloth, keep it a couple of feet from a heat vent, and re-oil yearly.
How does a desk arrive?
Desks ship made to order with the top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Tracking covers every box; note any carton damage on the receipt and we make it right.
Can the L face either direction in my room?
Yes. Tell us which wall the long wing should follow and whether the corner sits to your left or right, and we build the desk to that orientation — shelving and drawers positioned to match.
