Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating bathroom vanity

Teak where the water lives

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The one furniture wood that belongs in a bathroom.

This vanity shelf is solid teak, sealed with a waterproof PU finish over the wood's own oils and silica — the same chemistry that put teak on ship decks and in commercial steam rooms for a century. Designers sized the eighteen-inch depth around real basins and faucets; artisans select each board, flatten it true, and hand-sand every edge before sealing, so nothing catches a wet hand.

The fear with wood in a bathroom is black spots. Those are mildew feeding on soap scum on the surface, not the teak rotting — rinse it, run the fan, and years pass with none. Wall-hung, it turns the sink wall into the warmest surface in the room, wood that never goes cold the way tile does on a January morning, and the open floor keeps a small bath calm.

  • Need a vessel sink and faucet? It carries both, room to spare
  • Worried about steam? The PU-sealed surface shrugs off splash
  • Floor space tight? Wall-hung, so the floor stays clear
  • How thick? Four options, slim ledge to bold slab
  • Cold tile bathroom? Warm wood right where mornings begin

It fits real homes.

The 6:40 routine

The 6:40 routine

Watch off, ring beside it, water running. The weekday starts at this shelf, and the teak stays warm underfoot of a bare hand while the tile floor is still cold. The morning splash beads and wipes; nothing swells, nothing warps.

Before-dinner detour

Before-dinner detour

Guests step in to wash their hands before Thanksgiving dinner and come out slower than they went in. Someone always runs a palm along the wood under the sink and asks where it came from — the powder room doing quiet work all evening.

Sunday evening bath

Sunday evening bath

9:30 on a Sunday, a folded towel and a glass of wine within reach on the shelf beside the tub. Steam rises past the teak and it only warms to it — the week ends here, in heat, with nowhere left to be.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the full width of the vanity top — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, and grippy underhand even when the mirror fogs.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils beneath the sealed top coat, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. It arrives smelling faintly of wood, not of solvent off-gassing in a small closed room, because there is no particleboard core to release anything.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest absorption of any hardwood, the vanity top stays flat through daily steam and the constant humidity swings a shared bathroom lives with.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left untended in constant damp, teak can dull toward grey — a surface layer only. A light sanding and fresh finish bring the top back to gold anytime, which a peeling film finish on lesser wood never allows.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by a thirty-year selector and matched by tone across the top. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The top is cut to your width and depth, slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork on every edge that a wet hand will meet.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Surfaces are sanded by hand through five successive grits until every corner of the vanity feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

The waterproof finish cures in thin coats. The maker checks flatness, sealing, and edges before the shelf leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Why teak for a wall-hung vanity?
Teak is the default wood of commercial spas and steam rooms — environments wetter than any home bath. Built from solid teak, its natural oils and silica resist steam, splash, and humidity by nature, which is why boat builders trusted it long before bathrooms did.
What widths and cutouts are available?
Widths are built to order, with sink cutouts drilled to your specified basin and faucet. Send fixture spec sheets with your order and the cutout arrives exact — no field drilling into a finished top.
What does installation require?
A concealed steel hanging rail carries the vanity; it must anchor into studs or blocking. Plumbing hookup uses standard US fittings, so most plumbers complete installation in under an hour with the rail and template supplied.
How do I keep the teak golden, and won't it get black spots?
Wipe standing water after use, run the fan, and re-oil every few months in a daily-shower bath. Black spots are mildew eating soap scum on the surface, not the wood failing — a rinse and the occasional soft scrub keep them away entirely.
How is the vanity delivered?
Every vanity is made to order and freight-crated with the rail, hardware, and templates packed inside. Tracking and a scheduled delivery window come with every order; photograph the crate before signing if it arrives crushed.
Does the price include a sink, and what thicknesses can I choose?
The price covers one wooden vanity shelf only — no sink or faucet. The standard shelf runs 16 inches wide by 18 inches deep, in four thicknesses from 1.2 to 3.5 inches, with a light gloss from the waterproof PU finish. Message us for other sizes.
