Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall tree bookshelf

Seven feet of branches, holding your books

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A wall tree that turns storage into a landscape.

The designers mapped an 84-by-72-inch spread so the branches climb a wall the way a real canopy would — shelf lines placed where hands actually reach. Then an artisan selects each natural teak branch, shapes it to hold weight, sands it smooth, and oils it until the grain shows.

Mounted in a living room or reading corner, it becomes the wall people talk about. Each limb anchors into a stud, so a loaded branch never sags or pulls loose the way a bracket shelf does by its second year. Books, plants, and framed photos ride the limbs, and the first-time guest crosses the room to see how it carries the load.

  • 84-by-72-inch spread fills a full wall
  • Branch shelves hold books, plants, and framed photos
  • Shallow 8-inch depth leaves walkways clear
  • Shelf placement customizes to your wall and reach
  • Reads as sculpture even standing empty

It fits real homes.

The corner it claims

The corner it claims

An armchair, a lamp, and seventy-two inches of branching teak behind them. The dead corner of the living room becomes the seat everyone tries to claim first.

Plants on the limbs

Plants on the limbs

A trailing pothos on the highest branch, paperbacks below, a small clay bird someone gifted years ago. The tree keeps collecting the household's story, limb by limb.

The reach test

The reach test

A visiting nephew stands on tiptoe, fingers just brushing the second branch, and asks which shelf can be his. That branch holds his books every visit after.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, even grain follows each branch from trunk line to shelf tip, and afternoon sun in a reading corner turns the figure amber — calm enough to sit under, deep enough that a hand traces a limb without meaning to.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own oils — the crate opens smelling like a woodshop, not solvent. We hand-rub more into every limb and shelf face, a warm satin that reads soft in lamplight and never feels like a laminate shelf under the hand.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter and among the lowest-shrinkage hardwoods, each branch holds a full row of books without a sag — and keeps its line when winter forced-air heat dries the room into the twenties.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the branches never silver — they deepen toward honey where the window light reaches them. A limb scuffed to bare wood spot-sands and re-oils at the wall, no ladder-to-workshop refinish required.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Natural branches are chosen one at a time for figure and strength. Cracked or dull stock never joins the tree.

The shaping process

The shaping process

Each limb is shaped slightly proud of its line — leaving material for the handwork that levels every shelf surface.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every branch is sanded through successive grits until bark lines and edges feel right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks every mounting point and shelf level before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What exactly is a wall tree bookshelf?
Each wall tree is cut from solid wood into a branching form whose limbs are the shelves — a piece that reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close.
Can I choose the height and spread?
Yes. Height, spread, and branch count are made to order — a six-foot tree for a child's reading corner, or a nine-foot spread across a living-room wall.
How does it mount to the wall?
The tree mounts in sections on included hardware, anchored into studs at marked points. A paper template locates every screw; two people make quick work of the larger spreads.
Will the wood crack or move in a dry, heated room?
Solid wood moves when a house dries out each winter — unless the moving is already over. Every branch is picked by wood selectors with thirty years at the stacks, then given a twenty-day run through the kiln at a held temperature, so the grain has settled before a single shelf is leveled. Loaded with books beside a forced-air vent, the limbs keep their line and their finish, year after year.
How do I care for it once loaded?
Dust the limbs when you dust the books and re-oil exposed edges yearly. Rearranging the books now and then lets sunlight tone the wood evenly.
How does it ship?
Wall trees ship made to order in flat, sectioned cartons with templates and hardware packed first on top. Tracking follows the shipment from the workshop to your door.
How big is this build, and will every tree look the same?
This spread runs 84 inches high by 72 wide, standing just 8 inches off the wall. Because each branch is a natural piece of teak, your tree will differ from the photos in its curves and knots — that variation is the point, and we can adjust the spread to your wall when you order.
