Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Wall tree bookshelf

A tree that grows a library

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Branches on the wall, and every limb carries books.

Each wall tree starts with real teak branches, chosen one by one for the way they fork and reach. The designer maps the spread so every limb sits level enough to shelve; the branches spend their twenty days in the kiln — heat that drives out the moisture and any insect with it — before the artisan shapes, sands, and oils each one by hand.

No two trees can repeat, because no two branches grew the same way — the forks and bark lines you receive are the provenance of your piece, not a disclaimer in fine print. Across a living-room or library wall it reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close, the one thing in the room that could not have come from a warehouse shelf.

  • Each limb shelves a row of books or keepsakes
  • Low branches put children's books within their reach
  • Reads as wall sculpture even between reshelvings
  • Holds plants and framed photos alongside the novels
  • Branch layout arranges to fit your exact wall

It fits real homes.

The bedtime branch

The bedtime branch

The lowest limb belongs to a seven-year-old. Every night she stands on tiptoe, runs a finger along the row, and pulls tonight's story from her own branch of the tree. The wood is worn smooth exactly where her hand always lands.

Reshelving hour

Reshelving hour

A rainy Sunday spent moving finished novels up to the high limbs and the to-read pile down within reach. By dinner the whole tree tells this year's reading in order, and not one branch has bowed under the load.

The double take

The double take

New guests always do it: a glance from the doorway, a pause, then the walk across the room to see whether the branches are real. They touch the bark line to be sure, and the answer is yes.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of every branch and shelf limb — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, catching the afternoon light.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into each branch face, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that never feels like plastic under a reaching hand.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, each limb stays true under a full row of hardcovers through dry winters and humid summers.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

In strong daily sun, teak drifts toward silver-grey — a surface change only, paper-thin. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the branches back to gold anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Branches are chosen one at a time for reach, fork, and figure, then kiln-dried until the moisture meter reads done. Limbs with splits, rot, or dull grain never join the tree.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The spread is laid out from templates, each limb cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that levels every shelf.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every branch is sanded by hand through successive grits until the bark line feels smooth against an open palm, not merely looks clean.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks mounting points, limb level, and finish before the tree ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What exactly is a wall tree bookshelf?
Each wall tree is built from solid teak branches whose limbs are the shelves — a piece that reads as sculpture from the sofa and works as storage up close. The limb itself carries the load, so there is no bracket to sag and no veneer to chip at a corner.
Can I choose the height and spread?
Yes. Height, spread, and branch count are made to order — a six-foot tree for a child's reading corner, or a nine-foot spread across a living-room wall. Send a photo of the wall and its measurements and the layout is mapped to it.
How does it mount to the wall?
The tree mounts in sections on included hardware, anchored into studs at marked points — the studs carry the loaded weight for good. A paper template locates every screw; two people make quick work of the larger spreads.
How do I care for it once loaded?
Dust the limbs when you dust the books and re-oil exposed edges once a year with a rag. Rearranging the books now and then lets sunlight tone the wood evenly, and a scuffed limb spot-sands and re-oils instead of needing a refinisher.
How does it ship?
Wall trees ship made to order in flat, sectioned cartons with templates and hardware packed first on top. Tracking follows the shipment from the workshop to your door; photograph the carton before opening if it arrives crushed and write support@timbervintique.com.
Will my tree match the photos exactly?
No — and that is the point. This tree is built from natural teak branches, so the forks, curves, and bark lines of yours will differ from any photograph. The layout and shelf count are matched to your order, and the variance is the proof it is one of one.
