Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Console table

The live edge that greets you home

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Twelve inches deep, thirty tall — the first piece of furniture your day touches.

The designers held this console to a slim 30-by-12-inch footprint so it serves halls and entries a deeper table would choke. An artisan picks the teak board for grain that runs unbroken along the top, shapes the live edge by hand, and rubs oil in until the surface reads warm from the doorway — a finish you renew at home, not a film that chips at the corner.

An entry takes more abuse than any wall in the house — keys tossed, bags dropped, a wet umbrella leaned against it every rainy week. Flat-pack console legs work loose from exactly this within a year. Solid teak joined wood to wood does not, so the piece that greets you at six still stands square at midnight. First-time visitors touch the edge on the way past without meaning to.

  • Slim 12-inch depth clears even narrow hallways
  • Landing zone for keys, mail, and phone chargers
  • Carries a lamp, a vase, and a framed photo comfortably
  • Works in entries, hallways, and behind a low sofa
  • Standing height at 30 inches — no stooping to set down

It fits real homes.

The five o'clock landing

The five o'clock landing

Door open, bag down, keys and sunglasses onto the teak in one practiced motion. The console catches the end of the workday so the kitchen counter never has to. Five years of that landing and the top has not loosened a joint.

Market flowers

Market flowers

Saturday's stems go straight into the vase on the console, the paper still crackling. For the rest of the week the hallway smells faintly of eucalyptus on the way out the door, and the slim top never crowds the walk past.

Fourth lease running

Fourth lease running

The walls have been four shades of landlord beige in six years. The console is the one thing that moves each time and lands the same — within an hour of the truck leaving, it anchors the new entry and the place starts being theirs.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the full length of the tabletop before breaking at the live edge. From the doorway that unbroken figure is the first thing the eye settles on — the calm look that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and legs, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — and an oiled surface takes a set-down key scratch you can rub out, not a chipped film.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the slim top stays flat and true through a dry winter entry near a drafty front door.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the teak simply deepens with the years. If keys and daily use ever dull the top, a light sanding and fresh oil bring back the gold — no refinisher needed.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time for grain that carries a narrow top gracefully, then kiln-dried twenty days so movement finishes before the first cut. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The top is cut slightly proud of its slim 30-by-12 line, leaving material for the handwork that trues the straight sides against the live edge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, edge, and legs are sanded through successive grits until every surface feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, level, and finish before the console is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Each console is cut from solid teak — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edge stay part of the piece. No veneer over a hollow box; the top can be sanded and re-oiled for decades.
What size is this console?
This build measures 30 inches wide, 12 deep, and 30 tall — sized for narrow entries and hallways. Because each console is made to order, length and depth can be adjusted; tell us your wall and we will cut to it.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe water from vases and umbrellas promptly — standing water is the one thing to catch. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys and hands it greets daily, and a stray ring lifts with a warm dry iron.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Open and inspect it before you sign, noting any damage on the receipt. Tracking is emailed to you the day it ships.
