Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Spice rack

Every jar, one glance away

The piece

Wood you can trust an inch from dinner.

A shelf that lives at the stove holds things you eat, so the finish matters more than it does on a bookcase. This one is natural oil, rubbed in by hand — low VOC, food-safe once cured, no lacquer film to chip flakes into the flour. It arrives smelling like wood, not chemicals, because solid teak has no particleboard core and nothing to off-gas.

On the kitchen wall it turns cooking into a smoother motion — reach, pinch, return — with the everyday jars set at eye level where a hand finds them mid-stir. Steam and splatter wipe off the oiled surface with a damp cloth, and dinner goes on.

  • Everyday jars sit at eye level beside the stove
  • Front rails keep tall grinders from tipping mid-reach
  • Frees a full cabinet shelf for pots and pantry goods
  • Oiled teak wipes clean after splatter and kettle steam
  • No film finish to bubble or peel over the burners

It fits real homes.

The 6 a.m. reach

Oatmeal on the stove, house still dark before the school run. One hand finds the cinnamon without looking — same spot, every morning — while the other keeps stirring.

Sunday sauce

The pot goes on at two and the rack gets visited a dozen times before dinner — oregano, then basil, then one more bay leaf, each trip a half-step from the stove.

Taco Tuesday lineup

Tuesday evening, the kids pull their chairs to the counter and take turns shaking cumin and paprika into the pan, arguing over whose turn it is for the chili powder.

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How do the spice shelves keep jars in place?
Each spice shelf is solid wood with a raised front rail that keeps jars in place — shallow by design, so every label stays visible and nothing hides in a second row.
Can they be sized to my kitchen wall?
Widths are cut to order to fit the wall beside your stove or inside a pantry door. Tiered sets are built together so the grain runs as a family.
How do they mount?
Mounting hardware and a paper template are included. Two screws per shelf into studs or the included anchors — most kitchens have all three shelves up within half an hour.
How do I clean them in a kitchen?
Kitchens are hard on wood: wipe cooking film off monthly with a barely damp cloth and dry. An occasional wipe of oil keeps the rail and shelf fresh.
How are they packed?
Spice shelves ship made to order in slim padded boxes, sets together in one carton, hardware bagged inside. Tracking arrives by email when the carton ships.
How does it mount, and will it hold full glass jars?
Each rack hangs on standard wall screws through the back panel or keyhole slots. Into a stud or quality drywall anchors, the solid teak brackets carry several rows of full jars without sagging — this is dense hardwood, not pin-nailed MDF. Mounting guidance ships with the piece, and support@timbervintique.com can talk you through a tile or plaster wall.
Is wood safe next to the stove's heat and steam? Won't it warp?
Steam is what ruins veneered racks — it swells the core and lifts the edging. Solid teak has no core to swell, and these boards are kiln-dried for twenty days before cutting, so the shelf hangs flat through years of kettle cycles. Keep a normal backsplash distance from open flame, wipe with a damp cloth, and re-oil once a year if the surface looks thirsty.
