Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating vanity shelf

Two inches of teak, floating on the wall

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A single teak slab, cut to carry your mornings.

This is furniture reduced to one decision made well: a full two inches of solid teak, cut to 16 by 18 inches, its face chosen board by board for grain worth waking up to. The makers shape it, sand it smooth, and seal it with a waterproof finish built for daily splash — real wood under the coat, not a printed panel that bubbles the first humid August.

Hung under a mirror, it does what a whole cabinet used to do without eating the floor — the small bath reads calmer and larger the moment the bulky base is gone. The basin sits on real wood, and when someone new washes their hands, they notice; a shelf this substantial in a powder room does not go unremarked.

  • Solid teak base carries a vessel basin of your choosing
  • Waterproof finish shrugs off daily splash and shower steam
  • 16 by 18 inches fits powder rooms and small baths
  • Wall-hung design clears the floor for cleaning and sightlines
  • Four thicknesses, from 1.2 to 3.5 inches

It fits real homes.

Two at the mirror

Two at the mirror

School mornings run on rhythm: a step stool scrapes across the tile, two toothbrush cups wait on the slab, and the shelf holds steady through every elbow and splash while the sun climbs the mirror.

The Sunday reset

The Sunday reset

One pass of a cloth on a slow Sunday and the surface is clean again — razor, comb, and the small plant back in their places, the grain glowing under the light gloss. No product, no scrubbing.

Renovation, one shelf

Renovation, one shelf

The old particleboard cabinet went to the curb on a Saturday; by dinner, one thick teak slab hung in its place. The half bath finally looked finished — by subtraction, and for the last time.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs across the shelf face and along its front edge — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name, and the low, unhurried figure a japandi bath is built around.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils — one reason it belongs near water. Here the surface also wears a waterproof coat, so the golden tone stays put and the wood never turns clammy through a summer of shower steam.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half of oak's, the slab hangs flat and true through a winter of dry forced-air heat and a summer of daily steam.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Sealed, the teak holds its gold; left bare it would silver only outdoors under sun and rain, never in a bathroom. A light sanding and fresh finish reset the surface to day one whenever you choose.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, then kiln-dried twenty days until the moisture meter says done. A face worth staring at every morning is the whole test; twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The slab is cut slightly proud of its 16-by-18 lines, leaving material for the handwork that trues every edge and corner.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Faces and edges are sanded through successive grits until the front edge feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

The waterproof finish goes on in thin coats, with extra sealer worked into the end grain. The maker checks flatness, sealing, and surface before the shelf is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Why teak for a wall-hung vanity?
Built from solid teak, these vanities use the one furniture wood that genuinely belongs in a bathroom — the same wood commercial spas and steam rooms rely on. Its natural oils and silica resist steam, splash, and humidity by nature, not by a coating alone.
What exactly is included, and what sizes can I order?
The price covers one solid teak shelf — no sink or faucet. This build is 16"W x 18"D at a 2-inch standard thickness, with 1.2, 2, 2.75, and 3.5-inch options; message us with your wall and we cut to it, since every shelf is made to order.
What does installation require?
A concealed steel hanging rail carries the vanity; it must anchor into studs or blocking, since a loaded wet shelf is heavier than it looks. Plumbing hookup uses standard US fittings — most plumbers finish in under an hour.
How do I keep the teak golden?
Wipe standing water from the counter after use and run the fan. A light re-oiling every few months keeps teak golden in a daily-shower bathroom, less often in a powder room; a white water ring lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in seconds.
How is the vanity delivered?
Every vanity is made to order and freight-crated with the rail, hardware, and templates packed inside. Tracking and a scheduled delivery window come with every order; check the crate before you sign and note anything on the receipt.
