Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Side table

One solid twist, built for contact

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The small table that earns a second look.

The designers redrew the spiral until the base carried the top with no wobble on paper or on the bench. Then an artisan chose one teak blank — kiln-dried through a twenty-day cycle so the wood finished its moving before the first cut — and shaped the twist by hand until it runs smooth under a fingertip.

Side tables are usually the first thing in a room to wobble and the last to be missed when they go. This one is a single run of solid teak: press a forearm on the edge and nothing flexes, leave a sweating glass overnight and the ring wipes off the oiled top. It is the small table you stop replacing.

  • Holds mug, book, and lamp at reading-chair height
  • Runs full nightstand duty — glass and glasses within blind reach
  • Slides tight to the sofa on hosting nights
  • One solid piece, so there is no wobble to grow into
  • Small footprint suits apartments and tight corners

It fits real homes.

Sunday, four p.m.

Sunday, four p.m.

Tea and the book land at exactly the height of the chair's arm. One hour, no phone, low sun picking the spiral's grain into relief — the most personal square yard in the apartment, holding its ritual.

Saturday slow morning

Saturday slow morning

Eight a.m., low autumn sun across the bed, coffee set down on teak instead of a stack of books. Last night's novel is still open, and nobody is going anywhere for another hour.

Fourth quarter

Fourth quarter

Super Bowl Sunday, two-minute warning, a sweating bottle parked on the corner nobody is watching. Monday morning the ring wipes away with the crumbs — which is exactly why this wood was chosen.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs from the tabletop down through the twisting base, and morning sun rakes the spiral into sharp relief — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the collector's wood.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak's own oils and silica do half the finishing. We hand-rub more along the spiral until it holds a warm satin — smooth enough that hands keep returning to it without thinking.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

About 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage roughly half that of oak — the top stays flat through forced-air winters that pull indoor humidity down into the twenties.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Kept indoors, teak deepens toward honey-amber, not grey — silvering needs outdoor sun and rain. A light sanding and fresh oil return the original gold to top and twist whenever you choose.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak stock is pulled and matched so top and base read as one, then verified at the moisture meter. Boards with twist, checks, or dull figure never make the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The spiral is roughed out at the bandsaw slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the handwork that gives the twist its final profile.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, edge, and spiral are sanded by hand through five grits until every surface feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the table for level and wobble on a flat bench before it leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are these small tables built?
Solid teak from the tabletop through the spiral to the foot — no veneer, no particleboard core anywhere. Small tables get leaned on, sat on, and moved constantly, so this one is built like our dining tables and weighs like them too.
Can the height be matched to my sofa?
Yes — heights are made to order, which matters most here. Send us your sofa's arm height and we will build the table two inches under it, or level, as you prefer.
Is any assembly needed?
End and side tables ship fully assembled in almost every design. The exceptions arrive with a single bolt-on base and take five minutes with the included key.
How do I keep the finish even?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry. Coasters help but are not a rule — a white water ring lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in under a minute. Re-oil once a year, sooner for tables that live by sunny windows.
How do they ship?
Each table is made to order, wrapped, and double-boxed with corner protection — most travel by standard parcel carrier. Tracking is emailed at dispatch; if the box arrives crushed, photograph it and we make it right.
Is the twisted base stable?
Yes. The spiral is carved from thick solid stock and flows into a full-width foot, then checked for wobble on a flat bench before it ships. Lifting it once settles the question — solid teak weighs more than it looks.
