Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating vanity shelf

The shelf that carries the morning

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A single slab of teak, ready for the basin.

Each vanity shelf is one solid teak slab, sealed with a waterproof finish that leaves a soft, light sheen over the grain. The maker flattens and sands it to carry a vessel sink dead level and offers four thicknesses, from 1.2 to 3.5 inches, so the proportion suits the room it serves. Solid teak, not a laminated MDF box that swells at the first leak.

Teak is the wood commercial spas and steam rooms are built from — warmer underhand than tile at seven in the morning, unbothered by the daily splash. The slab dried twenty days in the kiln before sealing, so it holds a basin level through steam and seasons instead of cupping. You get years of unhurried mornings leaning on a surface built for the wet zone.

  • Vessel sink or open display? It carries either.
  • Worried about splash? Waterproof-sealed teak takes it daily.
  • Small bath? A floating mount frees the floor.
  • Proportion matters? Four thicknesses match shelf to room.
  • Double vanity? Sold per shelf, pair two up.

It fits real homes.

Unhurried mornings

Unhurried mornings

Seven a.m., water running, everything within reach on eighteen inches of teak. The slab is warm under a bare forearm where the tile counter never was; the routine has not changed — the surface it happens on has.

The powder-room reveal

The powder-room reveal

Dinner guests wash their hands under one warm sconce and come back asking about the floating slab. A room this small rarely earns a compliment, and this one does.

The evening reset

The evening reset

Last lights in the house: the slab wiped dry in one pass, towel squared, tomorrow's water glass set down. Thirty seconds, the fan left running a minute more, and the bathroom stays calm and spot-free.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the width of the slab — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Wet or dry, a palm slides over it without a splinter to find.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; here they work under a waterproof seal. The top's warm golden tone shows through a finish made for daily splash, so a sweating glass or a puddled toothbrush leaves no ghost ring behind.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the slab holds a sink level through the swing from hot shower steam to dry winter air.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Teak's tone shifts only at the surface, even in a bathroom's light and steam. A refresh of the sealed finish keeps the gold where you want it.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

After twenty days in the kiln, slabs are pulled one at a time for tone and figure; stock with twist, checks, or dull grain never becomes a vanity top.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The slab is cut slightly proud of its final line, leaving material for the flattening that lets a basin sit dead level.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, underside, and edges are sanded through successive grits until the shelf feels right against an open palm from any side.

The final inspection

The final inspection

The waterproof finish goes on in thin coats, cured and checked between each. The maker verifies flatness before the shelf ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Why teak for a wall-hung vanity?
Wall-hung and built from solid teak, the vanities in this collection use the one furniture wood that genuinely belongs in a bathroom — its natural oils and silica are the same chemistry that has kept ship decks and spa benches sound for generations, so steam, splash, and humidity do not faze it.
What widths and cutouts are available?
This shelf measures 16 inches wide by 18 inches deep as shown, in four thicknesses from 1.2 to 3.5 inches. The sink and faucet are not included; cutouts are drilled to your specified basin, so send fixture specs with your order. Other sizes are available on request.
What does installation require?
A concealed steel hanging rail carries the vanity; it must anchor into studs or blocking. Plumbing hookup uses standard US fittings — most plumbers complete installation in under an hour.
How do I keep the teak golden, and what about black spots?
Wipe standing water from the counter after use and run the fan — the black spots people fear on bath teak are mildew feeding on soap scum sitting on the wood, not the wood rotting, so a squeegee habit means years of none. A light re-oiling every few months keeps it golden in a daily-shower bath; less often in a powder room.
How is the vanity delivered?
Every vanity is made to order and freight-crated with the rail, hardware, and templates packed inside. Tracking and a scheduled delivery window are provided on every order.
