Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Mushroom shelf

A little forest for your wall

The piece

Carved from a board, not poured from a mold.

Most whimsical shelving is resin, MDF, or foam under a wood-look wrap — charming in the listing photo, hollow under a fingernail tap. Each of these caps is carved from one solid board, chosen by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks, so the grain runs unbroken through every curve.

The boards dry twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln before carving begins, so the thin edge of a cap will not check when the furnace comes on. On the kitchen wall it holds real weight and a real smile at once — and it can be sanded and re-oiled for decades, which no resin can.

  • Holds rings, watches, and keys at the exact height you drop them
  • Night-light ledge that throws a soft round shadow in a nursery
  • Rounded, hand-sanded edges — safe beside cribs, beds, and bunk ladders
  • Mounts in minutes on a stud or the included drywall anchors
  • Cluster two or three sizes into a small woodland wall

It fits real homes.

The bedtime book's spot

Eight-oh-five, story finished, lights next. Small arms stretch up and park the book on the mushroom cap until tomorrow night. The shelf turned the putting-away into the favorite part of the ritual.

Rings off, day over

Home at six, coat still on, and both rings land on the mushroom cap with a small wooden click. Same spot since the shelf went up. Nobody has torn the bathroom apart looking for them in months.

Three a.m., nursery

The night-light glows on the cap during the three a.m. feed, throwing one soft round shadow up the nursery wall. No hard corners at rocking-chair height, nothing to knock — just a small carved thing keeping watch too.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How do these mount, and how much will one hold?
Each shelf hangs on concealed hardware — screwed into a stud where possible, or on the included drywall anchors — a ten-minute job with a level and a drill. It is sized for the small things: a plant, a candle, glasses and a phone, a short stack of bedtime books. Keep the heavy rows on bracketed shelving and let this one carry the charm.
Is it actually carved wood, or a molded look-alike?
Solid wood through the whole form — carved from one board, no resin, no MDF, no wrap. Two quick checks when it arrives: the grain runs unbroken through every curve, which no mold reproduces, and a knuckle tap sounds dense, not hollow. Because it is solid, a scuff can be fine-sanded and re-oiled at home, which a molded finish never survives.
