Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Corner desk

The corner where the work gets done

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A desk with the presence of a workbench and the manners of fine furniture.

This corner desk is teak through and through — solid blocks joined into one grounded L, grain running long across both surfaces, edges left softly organic. The designers gave it real visual weight on purpose; the artisans select each block, shape it, and sand every edge by hand. Where a flat-pack desk hides sawdust under a sticker, this one is hardwood to the drawer boxes.

The failure most people know is the desk that flexes when you lean in and needs its bolts tightened three times the first month. This one is joined heavy and built from boards dried twenty days before a single cut, so it plants in the corner and stays put under leaning elbows. When someone says from the doorway that the office finally looks like an office, the desk is most of the reason.

  • Corner layout turns dead space into the room's engine
  • Extended surface holds monitors, books, and spread-out projects at once
  • Integrated drawers keep daily essentials off the top
  • Grounded teak build stays planted under leaning elbows
  • Warm rustic figure softens a screen-heavy room

It fits real homes.

The 6:45 call

The 6:45 call

Coast-to-coast means the first meeting lands before sunrise. Headset on, coffee parked in the crook of the L, notes on one wing and the screen on the other — the corner wraps around you while the house still sleeps.

Two desks, one desk

Two desks, one desk

Late afternoon, a third-grader claims the short wing with a math workbook while you close the day on the long one. Nobody is elbowing anybody; the corner was drawn wide enough for both of you.

Putting the week away

Putting the week away

Once a week the drawers open and the loose ends go in — receipts, pens, the good notebook. By Sunday night the teak top is clear again, and Monday does not start buried under Friday.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain flows the full length of each worksurface — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. The rustic edge keeps a screen-heavy corner from reading like an office-supply catalog.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and drawer fronts, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. It comes off the truck smelling like a woodshop, not like a chemical you have to air out.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the corner span stays flat when a Northeast radiator dries one side of the room all winter. Keep it a foot or two off the heat and it holds.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outdoors, teak weathers to a paper-thin silver-grey. Indoors it deepens toward a richer honey instead; a light sanding and fresh oil bring the desk's gold back whenever years of use dull the surface.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak blocks are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks and kiln-dried twenty days, matched so the grain travels naturally around the corner. Twisted or checked stock is set aside.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The L is traced from templates and cut slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the organic edges to be worked by hand.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Tops, edges, and drawer fronts are sanded through five grits until every surface feels right under an open palm, not merely looks right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker works every drawer, checks level and finish, before the sections leave the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What kind of wood are the desks built with?
Solid teak, tops thick enough to stay flat over a 60-inch span, joined to hardwood legs and trestles — no particleboard anywhere. It refinishes at home for generations, where a veneer top is ruined the first time it sands through.
Can I customize dimensions or add cable management?
Each desk is built to order, so width, depth, and height adjust to your room and chair. Standing-height builds and cable grommets can be added when you order.
How hard is assembly?
Built from solid joined blocks, it ships separated into sections to travel safely, then bolts together with the included hardware — two people, about an hour, no extra tools and no forty-picture instruction sheet.
How should I treat the worksurface?
Use a desk pad under daily writing for a flawless surface, or let the marks accrue honestly. Either way, wipe with a damp cloth and re-oil yearly; a deeper gouge spot-sands out in ten minutes.
How does a desk arrive?
Made to order, top and base packed separately in padded cartons, hardware bagged to the frame. Photograph each box before the driver leaves and note any crush on the receipt; tracking covers the whole shipment.
