Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Console table

Built by hand for the busiest wall

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A console shaped by hand to anchor the wall everyone walks past.

The designers studied the walls consoles actually serve — entries, hallways, the strip behind a sofa — and drew a 30-by-12-inch top at standing height. An artisan chooses the teak board for character worth keeping, shapes it, hand-sands every face, and oils the surface until the grain sits deep and warm. Solid teak throughout, joined wood to wood — no hollow core to work loose.

Most furniture in a hallway is filler — bought fast, replaced faster, gone in the next move. This is the piece a family lines its photographs along and does not think to move for thirty years. The frames change, the console does not; the joints that hold today hold when the kids come back with kids of their own. It becomes the wall people remember.

  • Slim 12-inch depth fits entries, halls, and behind sofas
  • Room for a lamp, framed photos, and the key bowl
  • Standing-height top at 30 inches for easy set-downs
  • Solid teak frame stands steady on uneven old floors
  • Seasonal stage for cards, garlands, and fresh stems

It fits real homes.

Behind the sofa

Behind the sofa

During gatherings it works as the drinks line — glasses set down mid-story, a candle at one end, someone leaning a hip against it to finish a point. It takes the weight without a wobble and never once complains.

The photo row

The photo row

Wedding, two graduations, one blurry beach day — the frames stand in a line along the teak. Grandmother stops there every visit, picks one up, and stays a while. The console has quietly become the family's mantelpiece.

December duty

December duty

Garland along the back edge, holiday cards propped in a growing row, the good candles finally lit. Warm punch sweats a ring that wipes off the oiled top. For one month a year the console becomes the mantel the house never had.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the tabletop, deep and warm under the oil so it reads from across a busy room — the consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and base, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — candle wax and a set-down glass wipe off instead of soaking into a film finish.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the top stays flat and true through every season beside a drafty front door.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the teak simply deepens year over year. If the top ever tires of keys and candle wax, a light sanding and fresh oil restore the gold — a ten-minute job at home.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top and base, then kiln-dried twenty days so movement finishes before the first cut. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The design is traced from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that gives each edge its rustic profile.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, edges, and legs are sanded through successive grits until they feel right against an open palm, not merely look right from a step away.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, level, and finish before the console leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Each console is cut from solid teak — often a single continuous slab for the top — then hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edge stay part of the piece. No veneer over a hollow box; the top can be sanded and re-oiled for decades.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe water from vases and umbrellas promptly — standing water is the one thing to catch. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for the keys and hands it greets daily, and a stray ring lifts with a warm dry iron.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Open and inspect it before you sign, noting any damage on the receipt. Tracking is emailed to you the day it ships.
What are this console's dimensions, and what fits on top?
This build is 30 inches wide, 12 deep, and 30 tall. The top comfortably carries a table lamp, three to four standard frames, a catch-all bowl, and a slim vase with room to spare.
