Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Handcrafted solid wood · Tree coat rack

A tree that earns its floor space

The piece

Built to hold the weight of a household.

A coat tree lives a rougher life than most furniture — loaded on one side, yanked one-handed, leaned on by whoever is fighting a boot. So each branch is joined deep into the trunk like a tenon into a mortise, and the base carries the mass low. Load it with eight winter coats or leave it bare; the stance reads the same.

You feel the difference the day it arrives: this is a piece two people carry, not a pole with a screw-on base. In the entryway that weight is the whole point — parkas, backpacks, and a dog leash all pulling at once, and nothing so much as sways.

  • Holds a full winter coat on every branch
  • Gives kids a branch at their own hanging height
  • Keeps the dog leash at grab-and-go height by the door
  • Takes a dinner party's coats without borrowing a bed
  • Stands planted loaded on one side — branches joined deep into the trunk

It fits real homes.

Seven-forty, school morning

Backpacks, jackets, one missing glove — the school-run shuffle moves through in ninety seconds and every branch gives something back. The door slams, the rack stands there half stripped, planted as ever.

Eight coats, December

The holiday potluck lands eight coats in two minutes — wool, down, one leather jacket with opinions. All of it hangs by the door instead of piling on a bed, and the party starts in the hallway.

Rain-shell recovery

A soaked October trail day ends at the rack — shells on the high branches, dripping onto the mat, boots lined up below. By Sunday morning everything is dry, aired, and ready to do it again.

Teak, up close.

The grain

Honey and amber bands run the length of each plank. No two boards repeat, so your piece is the only one with this pattern.

The oils

Teak grows its own protective oils, and they carry the wood through dry winters and humid summers that crack lesser boards. Spills just need wiping up promptly.

The weight

Lift a corner and you feel dense, solid stock with no hollow frames or fillers. Kiln-dried before the build, it sits flat and stays put, even when the heat comes on.

The years ahead

Teak deepens toward a richer brown as it lives with you. A wipe of teak oil twice a year holds the tone you chose.

From plank to piece.

Select

Planks graded by practiced eyes, then kiln-dried slowly until they settle.

Mill

Each board cut, squared, and matched to the pattern.

Shape

Joined and eased with hand tools after the machines have done the rough work.

Finish

Sanded fine, then oiled until the grain reads deep.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Are the racks really shaped like trees?
Each tree coat rack is shaped from solid wood — some from single branching trunks — sanded smooth and finished so coats hang on real limbs rather than plastic pegs.
What heights and branch counts are available?
Heights and branch counts are made to order. A six-foot rack with eight branches handles a family entry; slimmer builds suit apartments. Each one differs slightly, on purpose.
How does it stay upright under a load of coats?
Racks arrive in one or two sections that thread together in minutes. The weighted base keeps things planted; a discreet wall strap is included for busy households.
How do I care for it?
Dust the branches with a dry cloth and let wet coats drip on a mat first when you can. A yearly wipe of oil keeps the trunk rich.
How is a tall piece like this shipped?
Every rack is made to order and shipped in a tall padded carton with the base packed at the bottom. Tracking follows by email the day it leaves.
Will it tip over when it's fully loaded?
The tip-overs you are picturing come from screw-together poles with plastic feet. Here each branch is joined deep into the trunk, the wood is kiln-dried for twenty days so those joints stay tight through heating season, and the mass sits low in the stance. It holds with eight coats or none — though spreading the heaviest wool around the trunk is still good practice.
Does it need assembly?
No Saturday required. Most racks arrive as one carved piece; the largest ship with the base off, and it bolts on in minutes with the included hardware. A branch carved into a trunk cannot be flat-packed — which is exactly why it does not wobble like something that was.
