Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece

Plate I

Storage with a spine of teak and a workshop temper.

The design pairs rustic teak with industrial detailing — a shelf with the temper of a workbench, sized for a bathroom wall. The builder picks the board for character, keeps the grain and its knots honest, then oils it by hand for a room that runs hot, wet, and busy twice a day.

Small bathrooms ration every inch of counter, and most shelving sold for them is coated pine that swells by year two. Teak is the wood commercial spas and locker rooms run on — it does not mind wet hands or rolling steam. The plain wall gets a point of view, and the sink gets its counter back.

  • Razor, watch, and glasses live at eye level, not the sink rim
  • Steam and dripping hands meet teak's own oils, not a coating
  • Industrial detailing suits lofts, cabins, and modern baths
  • Gives a small or shared sink its counter back
  • Mounts over tile or drywall with the included hardware

It fits real homes.

Six-ten reach

Six-ten reach

6:10 on a workday: razor, watch, glasses, all at eye level before the coffee is even on. Wet fingers leave beads that sit on the oiled grain until the towel passes, and nothing lives on the sink rim anymore.

The steam test

The steam test

The shower runs hot and steam rolls through the room twice a day. The teak answers the way it answered on ship decks — barely at all. A squeegee habit and a running fan mean years of zero trouble.

Powder room verdict

Powder room verdict

During a dinner party the powder room quietly becomes the most-reviewed room in the house, and the shelf — stocked, level, a little rugged against the tile — runs up the score without saying anything.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the shelf face, steadying the harder industrial details around it — and in steam it gives off teak's faint leather-sweet scent.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into the top and face. Splash beads on the satin surface, and toothpaste flecks wipe off without a trace.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, kiln-dried a full twenty days before the first cut, the shelf stays flat and true through years of twice-daily steam.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

In a steamy room teak can drift toward silver-grey — a paper-thin surface change, not damage. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the shelf's gold back anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Each shelf begins as a board pulled for character and strength — grain worth looking at daily. Twisted or checked stock is culled right at the racks.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The shelf is laid out from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that trues face and edge to the bracket line.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, face, and edges are sanded by hand through successive grits until they feel right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker fits the hardware, checks fit and finish under the bench light, and packs the shelf with its drilling template.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Will these shelves hold up in a humid bathroom?
Yes. Each shelf is cut from solid teak — the default wood of commercial steam rooms and spas, environments wetter than any home bath. Its natural oils and silica are the same chemistry that kept ship decks sound for centuries.
What lengths and depths are available?
Standard lengths run from about 16 to 36 inches, but every shelf is made to order — send us the width of your alcove or wall and we will cut to it.
What does mounting involve?
Shelves ship with concealed brackets and hardware for both studs and masonry. Anchor into at least one stud where possible; over tile, use the included anchors and a quality masonry bit.
How do I care for teak near a shower?
Wipe standing water and let the fan run. Black spots on bath teak are mildew eating soap residue sitting on the surface, not the wood failing — an occasional rinse and soft scrub prevent them, and a re-oil every few months holds the gold.
How is my order packed and shipped?
Every shelf is made to order, wrapped edge to edge, and boxed with rigid corner guards. Tracking arrives the day it ships; photograph any crushed box before the driver leaves and we make it right.
Does the industrial styling need special mounting?
No. The shelf hangs on the same included heavy-duty hardware as the rest of the collection — studs where you can find them, the supplied anchors and a masonry bit over tile. The industrial detailing is part of the build, not extra work for you.
