Natural grain. Finished by hand.

The form of this nightstand is shaped by natural grain, then its visible wood surfaces are refined and finished by hand.

Not included: beds, bedding, lamps, books, charging devices, and bedside accessories; loose mounting or installation hardware; other non-wood accessories; decorative objects and styling props.

Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating nightstand

A carved wave at mattress height

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A carved wave beside the bed, holding the quiet hours.

The drawer front is carved by hand into layered waves that follow the direction of the grain — a pattern that cannot be repeated, because the next board's grain runs its own way. The case is solid teak down to the drawer box, softly rounded and wall-hung, sanded until the ridges feel like stone worn smooth by a river.

Small bedrooms lose the fight at the nightstand: legs to stub a toe on at 2 a.m., a cluttered top, a dead zone the vacuum can't reach. Hung on a concealed cleat at exactly your mattress height, this one floats a clear surface where the hand lands in the dark and leaves the floor open beneath — the calm corner of the room is suddenly yours.

  • Floating top puts the water glass at exact mattress height
  • Full drawer hides chargers, readers, and bedside clutter
  • Open floor beneath lets the vacuum pass straight under
  • Carved front gives the bedroom sculpture, not another box
  • No legs to find with a bare toe at 2 a.m.

It fits real homes.

Lights out

Lights out

Eleven on a work night. Glasses folded, phone face down, page corner turned — everything lands on the floating top in the same order, and the drawer swallows the rest. The last thing the fingertips register is warm wood, not cold glass.

Saturday, 8 a.m.

Saturday, 8 a.m.

Low autumn sun crosses the bed and climbs the carved waves, moving highlight to highlight along the grain. Coffee lands on the teak, last night's book is still open, and nobody is going anywhere for another hour.

The 3 a.m. reach

The 3 a.m. reach

A half-asleep hand finds the water glass exactly where it always is, at mattress height, no fumbling and no stubbed toe below — because there is nothing below but open floor. The drawer stays silent; so does the house.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain guides the carved waves across the drawer front, and morning sun turns each ridge to a moving highlight — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and the carved front, so the bedside water glass leaves rings that wipe away and the surface stays warm to a sleepy hand.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with movement about half of oak's, the wall-hung case holds square through the dry furnace months — so the drawer glides the same in January as in July.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

In a bedroom the surface deepens slowly toward honey — silvering needs outdoor sun and rain it will never meet. If east light warms one edge faster over the years, a light sanding and fresh oil even it out.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are chosen so the grain runs with the planned wave carving, then dried until the moisture meter says done — a twenty-day cycle. Twist, checks, or dull figure never make the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The rounded case and wave pattern are traced from templates, then cut slightly proud — leaving material for the carver's gouge to finish.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Each carved ridge is sanded through five grits until the layered front feels soft under a fingertip in the dark — the test is done with eyes closed.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker hangs the case on a shop cleat, cycles the drawer, and checks the fit before packing.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are the nightstands constructed?
Solid wood down to the drawer boxes, with dovetailed or pinned corners — small casework built the way full-size dressers used to be. No MDF panel hides behind the carved front.
Can I match the height to my bed?
Yes. Each nightstand is made to order, so height can match your mattress top, and depth can shrink for narrow bedside walls. Pairs are built together from matching stock, cut from neighboring boards.
Is there any assembly?
This is a wall-mounted design: it hangs on a concealed cleat with the included hardware, anchored into studs or the supplied heavy-duty anchors. Mounting takes about half an hour, and the drawer arrives fitted and waxed — and because it floats, you set it at exactly the height your mattress calls for.
What care keeps them looking right?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and re-oil the top yearly — ten minutes with a rag. A white ring from a forgotten glass lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron; drawer runners appreciate an occasional rub of paraffin wax.
How do nightstands ship?
Double-boxed with the drawer secured for transit, tracking emailed when the boxes leave. Pairs ship together; if a carton arrives crushed, photograph it before opening and we make any damage right.
