Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coffee table

Soft curves, an open shelf, one teak board

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The table the whole room gathers around.

The designer worked this the slow way — mocking up curve after curve until the open shelf sat low enough to reach from the couch and light enough to read as air, not storage. Then an artisan chose one teak board for the top, full thickness with no veneer to chip, and shaped the curved base by hand to carry it.

A coffee table lives closer to daily life than anything else in the room — feet, mugs, a dog's tail, a toddler's Lego. A flat-pack one loosens and gets dragged to the curb in a few years; this one you sand and re-oil at home instead, so a scuff becomes patina rather than a reason to replace it. Buy it once.

  • Open shelf keeps books and remotes off the tabletop
  • Full-thickness teak top handles mugs, feet, and board games
  • Curved base keeps sightlines clear across an open room
  • Rounded edges stay kind to shins and toddlers
  • One-piece look with no hardware or fasteners showing

It fits real homes.

Fourth quarter

Fourth quarter

Super Bowl Sunday, seven-layer dip at center-table like a trophy. A sweating bottle leaves a ring on a corner nobody is watching, feet go up at the two-minute warning. Monday morning it wipes away with the crumbs — oiled teak sheds the ring with no ghost mark behind it.

Sixty-pound tail

Sixty-pound tail

Weeknight living room, a sixty-pound dog with a confident tail that clears the coffee table twice an evening. The leash hangs by the door, paws land at every doorbell, and nobody yells. The teak was chosen for exactly this house — dense enough to shrug off the traffic.

Ten minutes out

Ten minutes out

Ten minutes before the doorbell on a Friday, the remotes, the magazines, and the kids' library books all drop to the open shelf below. The top clears in one sweep, the room exhales, and nothing is actually hidden — it stays within reach from the couch.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the top and down the curved base — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Run a palm across it and the oiled surface is cool and slick, with no plastic film to catch a fingernail.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and shelf face, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. It arrives smelling faintly sweet and leathery, like a woodshop — new-furniture chemical smell is simply not part of it.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Boards are chosen by thirty-year selectors, then dried twenty days in a controlled kiln, so the wood does its moving before the first cut. At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter it stays flat and the shelf true when the furnace runs all January.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors, out of hard direct sun, teak deepens toward a richer honey-amber rather than going grey — silvering needs outdoor UV and rain. If a sunny window ever lightens the top over years, a light sanding and fresh oil bring it back to gold.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

After the twenty-day kiln, boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top and shelf. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The curved base and shelf opening are traced from full-size templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the final handwork.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The rounded edges and shelf lip are sanded by hand through five grits until every curve feels right against an open palm, not just under shop lights.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the top for level, the shelf for fit, and the finish before the table leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop really solid wood?
Solid teak through the full thickness of the top — no veneer, no MDF core to chip at a corner. That is why it can be sanded and re-oiled for decades where a printed top cannot, and why the natural oils shrug off the sweating glasses and Friday spills a coffee table lives with.
Can I adjust the size or height?
Standard sizes fit most sofas, but each table is built after you order, so length, height, and shape can be adjusted. Two inches lower for a deep sofa is a common request.
How much assembly is required?
Most designs arrive fully assembled; a few ship with legs off to protect them in transit. Those bolt on in minutes with the included key — no wordless diagrams, no separate tools needed.
How do I care for the top?
Wipe spills when you see them and dry the surface; coasters help but are not a rule, since oiled teak sheds water rings. A thin coat of oil once or twice a year keeps it rich, and a white ring that does appear lifts in seconds with a cloth and a warm, dry iron.
How are coffee tables delivered?
Coffee tables are made to order, wrapped, corner-blocked, and crated when size demands. You get tracking at dispatch and a heads-up before any freight delivery is scheduled.
What fits on the open shelf?
The shelf is sized for the things a living room actually uses — a short stack of books or magazines, remotes, a board game or two, a low basket. It is open on the long sides, so everything stays within reach from the sofa.
