Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Makeup vanity

Twenty unhurried minutes, every morning

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A vanity built for unhurried mornings.

The form flows from leg to tabletop in one asymmetrical sweep — proportions tuned until the piece sat gracefully against a bedroom wall. The top is clear solid teak, kiln-dried for twenty days so it holds dead flat, and the integrated drawers are fitted by hand until they glide shut on their own weight.

Makeup is hard on furniture — remover, alcohol, powder, the heat of a curling iron set down once too often. An oil-finished teak top takes the daily chemistry and wipes clean, and when a spot finally dulls, it sands and re-oils at home instead of clouding like a film finish. The first quiet minutes of the day deserve a surface that keeps up.

  • Remover and alcohol wipe off; the oil finish spot-repairs at home
  • Integrated drawers keep cosmetics and jewelry sorted, not scattered
  • Reads as bedroom furniture, never a bathroom fixture
  • Sized to live comfortably against one wall or in a corner
  • The kneehole clears a stool or small chair

It fits real homes.

6:40, before everyone

6:40, before everyone

A school morning, the house still dark. The drawer slides open on its own weight, the day's face goes on, and the teak top holds brushes, bottles, and the first coffee without complaint.

Wedding-guest Saturday

Wedding-guest Saturday

A June Saturday, ninety minutes before a ceremony across town. The curling iron parks on a trivet, earrings wait in a row along the grain, and the getting-ready photos get taken right here.

Ten o'clock undoing

Ten o'clock undoing

Earrings into the tray, watch beside them, the day set down piece by piece on solid wood. The vanity closes the evening as calmly as it opened the morning — one drawer shut on the whole arrangement.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Close, even grain runs the length of the tabletop and drawer fronts — and in the low light of a 6:40 morning, the figure reads as calm as the room needs to be.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak arrives with its own oil supply. We rub more into the top and sculpted leg — under a fingertip the satin surface reads powder-smooth, and it smells of wood, never lacquer.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Teak moves about half as much as oak when the seasons swing, so the tabletop stays flat and the hand-fitted drawers run true from furnace-dry January through humid August.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

In a bedroom the golden tone only deepens with the years — morning sun through a window warms it rather than fades it. If it ever dulls, a light sanding and fresh oil restore it in an afternoon.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top, leg, and drawer fronts — the clearest, knot-free stock is reserved for the worksurface.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The asymmetrical sweep is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that gives the curve its profile.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top and curves pass through five grits of sandpaper by hand until the edge feels right against a resting forearm, morning after morning.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker cycles each drawer a dozen times, checks level, and signs the vanity out of the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What makes the vanity top hold up to daily products?
The worksurface is solid, knot-free teak with a penetrating oil finish — no lacquer film to cloud or peel under alcohol-based products. Spills wipe clean, and a dulled spot re-oils at home in minutes rather than needing a refinisher.
What can be customized?
Vanities are built to order — width, height, drawer count, and mirror options all adjust. A 36-inch build with one drawer suits most bedrooms; corner builds are available too.
How much assembly is there?
The table arrives assembled; the mirror, where included, bolts to the back rail with two fittings in about ten minutes. All hardware and the key ship inside the drawer — no wordless diagrams.
How should I clean the surface?
Wipe up cosmetics and alcohol-based products promptly — they are harder on any finish than water is. A soft damp cloth daily and fresh oil twice a year keeps the top flawless; that small ritual is the tradeoff for a finish you can repair yourself.
How is a vanity delivered?
Made to order and packed with the mirror and table cradled separately, with full tracking. Larger builds travel freight with a scheduled window — check the packaging before signing, and anything the truck got wrong, we make right.
What is asymmetrical about the design?
The leg and tabletop flow as one continuous curve weighted to one side, so the vanity reads as sculpture from across the bedroom while the integrated drawers keep cosmetics and accessories close at hand.
