Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Outdoor bench

One loop of teak in the garden

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A bench that loops seat into base in one motion.

The designers drew the seat and base as a single flowing loop, then worked the curve until it sat as comfortably as it photographed. Artisans join the solid teak blocks, carve the transition by hand, and sand the whole run until the grain travels the curve without a break. The boards are kiln-dried twenty days first, so the loop holds its line through freeze-and-thaw.

The doubt with outdoor wood is the second winter — the split, the grey, the piece you drag to the curb. Teak answers with its own oils and silica, the boat-deck chemistry that outlasts the hardware bolted to it. Left bare it silvers, a paper-thin layer you can sand back to gold any spring; the choice stays yours, not the weather's.

  • Lives outside year-round — no paint, no cover, through frost
  • Continuous curve seats two along a path or patio
  • Open loop lets the garden show through beneath
  • Anchors a path, patio, or fire-pit circle
  • Works indoors too — entry, hall, or foot of the bed

It fits real homes.

First coffee outside

First coffee outside

A Saturday in May, dew still on the grass, the teak already dry to the touch while the metal chair beside it sweats. Ten minutes with the mug on the curve before the day starts asking its questions.

The garden pause

The garden pause

Gloves off, trowel down, you sit back on the curve and audit the beds you just weeded. The bench is where the garden gets admired instead of worked, and it stays out untouched through the first hard frost.

Last light, two people

Last light, two people

The Fourth of July grill is cooling, the kids chase fireflies across the yard, and the bench holds the two of you and one shared glass through the last of the long summer light.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain travels the loop from seat down through the base — the calm, consistent figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Wet or dry, it never turns splintery underfoot.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils — the reason it lives outdoors on ship decks through salt and storm. We hand-rub more into the seat, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that beads off morning dew.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the sculpted loop stays sound through rain, sun, and frost — twenty days in a controlled kiln settled the wood before a single cut, so a lake-house winter never opens it.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outside, teak weathers to a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, no loss of strength. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the seat back to gold any spring you feel like it.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Dense, oil-rich teak blocks are chosen and matched by tone before joining. Checked or dull stock never goes outdoors under our name.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The loop is traced from templates and bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the long fairing of the curve.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Seat and curve are sanded through successive grits until the surface welcomes bare legs on a summer afternoon.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the joints and stance on level ground before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How do these handle full outdoor exposure?
Built from plantation-grown teak, kiln-dried twenty days so it moves in the workshop and not in your yard, these benches are made for full sun, rain, and snow — teak's own oils and silica do the protecting, the same chemistry that keeps ship decks sound for decades.
What sizes are available?
Lengths are made to order. A 48-inch bench seats two comfortably on a porch; 72 inches handles the whole family along a fire pit. Custom depths are available.
Does this bench need assembly?
Yes — this sculptural design is built from solid teak blocks joined at the workshop, then separated into sections so the curve travels safely. The sections bolt back together with the included stainless hardware and key in about twenty minutes; no anchoring is needed on grass, pavers, or deck boards.
What outdoor care is required?
Hose off pollen and dirt each spring with mild soap. Left bare, the teak silvers gracefully; a light sanding and one coat of teak sealer bring back gold — skip hardware-store teak oil outdoors, which feeds mildew. Neither choice affects the bench's strength.
How are outdoor benches shipped?
Outdoor benches ship made to order, boxed or crated by length, with hardware bagged inside. Tracking is provided, and freight-size pieces are scheduled with you before delivery.
