Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coffee table

The table the whole evening lands on

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A minimalist teak table the whole evening leans on.

The designers pared this table to what matters: a solid teak top at 28 by 16 inches, standing 16 high — proportions worked against real sofas, not showroom sets. The artisan selects the board for its grain, shapes it, and finishes it with natural wax and oil — a finish you renew at home rather than one that chips and can never be touched up.

A coffee table lives closer to daily life than anything else in the room — feet, spills, a sweating glass left on the corner nobody is watching. A film-finished top would ring and chip there for good. This one takes the marks and gives them back: ten minutes with fine paper and oil, and the gouge from Tuesday is gone. You stop policing the room.

  • Sized for apartments, loveseats, and reading corners
  • Holds the coffee, the laptop, and the board game at once
  • Natural oil finish renews at home in twenty minutes
  • Light enough to shift when the room rearranges
  • Pre-marked holes make assembly a one-person job

It fits real homes.

Saturday, first coffee

Saturday, first coffee

The house still quiet at seven, one mug set on the teak, steam curling over the grain. Twenty minutes that belong to nobody else. The oiled top has never once left a ring, so the morning stays about the coffee.

Fourth-quarter dip

Fourth-quarter dip

Super Bowl Sunday, seven-layer dip at center like a trophy, a sweating bottle making a ring on the corner nobody watches. Feet up at the two-minute warning. Monday it all wipes away with the crumbs, ring and all.

The ten-minute fix

The ten-minute fix

Saturday after a Lego-heavy week, a deep gouge across the top from a dropped fire truck. Fine sandpaper, a rag of oil, ten minutes at the kitchen sink. The mark is gone and the surface reads like nothing happened. Try that with laminate.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the tabletop. Low to the eye at sofa height, that calm figure is the first thing a room reads — the look that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub wax and more oil into the top, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin — a finish that fails gracefully, spot-repairing where a lacquer film would peel in a whole sheet.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the top holds flat through a dry January furnace and a humid August alike — no gapping, no cupping.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the top simply deepens with the years. Rings and small marks sand out; a fresh coat of oil brings the gold back any weekend you choose — no professional, no replacement.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time for grain worth living with daily, then kiln-dried twenty days so the movement is over before the first cut. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never becomes a tabletop.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The top is cut slightly proud of its 28-by-16 line, leaving material for the handwork that softens every edge to the touch.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top and legs are sanded through successive grits until the surface feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Natural wax and oil go on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks level and joints before the table ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop really solid wood?
Solid teak through the full thickness of the top — no veneer, no MDF core. You can check it two ways: it is heavy for its size and never sounds hollow, and it can be sanded and re-oiled for decades, which a printed veneer cannot survive.
Can I adjust the size or height?
Standard sizes fit most sofas, but each table is built after you order, so length, height, and shape can be adjusted. Two inches lower for a deep sofa is a common request.
How much assembly is required?
Most designs arrive fully assembled; a few ship with legs off to protect them in transit. Those bolt into pre-marked holes in minutes with the included key — no wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How do I care for the top?
Coasters help but are not a rule — wipe spills when you see them and dry the surface. A thin coat of oil once or twice a year keeps the top rich, and a stray white ring lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in under a minute.
How are coffee tables delivered?
Coffee tables are made to order, wrapped, corner-blocked, and crated when size demands. Photograph the crate before you sign and note any damage; we make a shipping problem right. You get tracking at dispatch and a heads-up before any freight delivery.
What sofa does this size suit?
At 28 inches wide, 16 deep, and 16 tall, this build suits loveseats, apartment sofas, and reading corners where a full-size table would crowd the walkway. Size, leg height, and tone can all be adjusted when you order.
