Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Shower bench

A wave with a job to do

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A wave-carved bench where the curve itself is the storage.

The wave was never just styling — our designers shaped the hollow to cradle rolled towels while the upper surface stays flat and steady for sitting. Artisans carve the profile from dense, oil-rich teak, kiln-dried first, fair the sweep by hand, and sand every face until seat and hollow run without a seam. This is the wood steam rooms trust.

The worry with wood by the shower is rot and black spots, but those grow on soap scum sitting on a surface, not on teak — its oils and silica are boat-deck chemistry. The open hollow lets air move so the towels dry instead of souring, and one small footprint does the work of a stool and a shelf. Minimal was never meant to mean bare.

  • Somewhere to sit? A flat top for showering or drying off.
  • Where do towels go? The wave hollow, within arm's reach.
  • Will steam wreck it? Oil-rich teak shrugs off steam and splash.
  • Where does it fit? Vanity corners and tub-side spots alike.
  • Two pieces of furniture? One replaces a stool and towel shelf.

It fits real homes.

Towels in the curve

Towels in the curve

Two rolled towels ride in the wave's hollow like they were measured for it, because they were. Restocking them is the fastest chore in the house, and air moving through the curve keeps them dry between showers.

While the tub fills

While the tub fills

Perched on the flat top, testing the water with one hand, a toddler's bath toys queued on the floor. The eight-minute wait finally has a seat that is not the cold edge of the tub.

The guest-bath grace note

The guest-bath grace note

Weekend visitors find soap, a fresh towel in the hollow, and somewhere to set their kit, all on one quiet piece of teak. It answers the small questions before anyone has to ask.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain follows the wave from seat to hollow — the calm figure collectors ask for by name. Underhand it stays grippy and warm when wet, where tile turns cold and slick.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils — the reason it lives happily in wet rooms without a sealer. We hand-rub more into the carved surfaces, deepening the gold to a warm satin that arrives smelling of wood, not chemicals.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the wave form stays flat through daily steam and the humidity swings of a bathroom fan cycling on and off.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left alone in a wet room, teak weathers toward a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, not rot. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the gold back anytime you want it.

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Dense, oil-rich teak boards are chosen for a life of daily water, then kiln-dried twenty days before shaping. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The wave profile is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line, leaving material to fair the hollow by hand.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Seat and hollow are sanded through successive grits until the curve feels right against bare skin, inside and out.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks stance, level, and finish before the bench leaves the workshop.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is teak really safe inside a running shower?
Solid teak, through and through — the wood commercial spas and steam rooms are built from, wetter places than any home bath. Its natural oils and silica resist water and rot with no sealer. Black spots people fear are mildew on soap scum sitting on the wood, not the wood failing; rinse it and let it dry and it stays clean.
Can the bench be sized to my shower stall?
Yes. Benches are built to order, so width and height match your stall or wet room. Send the alcove measurements and we will size the bench with proper clearance.
Does it need installation?
Shower benches arrive assembled with stainless, rust-proof hardware and adjustable feet for sloped shower floors. Rated well beyond everyday seated weight, they need no wall attachment.
What care does teak need in a wet room?
Rinse soap residue off weekly, run the fan, and let the bench dry between showers — a quick squeegee habit means years with no mildew. Re-oil every few months to hold the gold, or let it silver; the wood stays sound either way.
How does it ship?
Each bench is made to order and shipped in a compact padded box with feet fitted and hardware installed. Tracking is provided to you on the day of dispatch.
What fits inside the wave hollow?
The hollow is shaped for two or three rolled bath towels, or a basket of bottles. Because the opening faces outward, air circulates and whatever you store dries between showers rather than sitting damp.
