Natural grain. Finished by hand.

The form of this nightstand is shaped by natural grain, then its visible wood surfaces are refined and finished by hand.

Not included: beds, bedding, lamps, books, charging devices, and bedside accessories; loose mounting or installation hardware; other non-wood accessories; decorative objects and styling props.

Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating nightstand

Everything bedside, nothing on the floor

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A nightstand that floats — and a floor that stays clear.

Rounded edges, a softly contoured body, one open shelf, and a concealed drawer: the whole piece was drawn to disappear into the calm of a bedroom. Each artisan selects the teak board, shapes the curves, fits the drawer by hand, and oils the surface to a quiet satin. The drawer box is solid wood too, not a stapled particleboard tray.

A bedroom is the last place you want two weeks of new-furniture smell and a headache off some glued-up composite. This piece is solid teak with a natural oil finish and no formaldehyde core to off-gas, so it arrives smelling faintly of wood. Mounted at exactly the height your mattress asks for, it keeps water, book, and phone within a half-asleep reach, and a first guest always asks how it holds with no legs.

  • Mounts at the exact height your bed calls for
  • Open shelf keeps the bedtime book in reach
  • Concealed drawer hides chargers, glasses, and small things
  • Clear floor below makes a small bedroom feel bigger
  • Rounded teak edges are kind to half-asleep hands

It fits real homes.

The last page

The last page

Book folded shut, glasses set on the shelf, water within reach — the light clicks off without your head leaving the pillow. The nightstand ends the day at arm's length, exactly where a half-asleep hand expects it.

The drawer that hides the cord

The drawer that hides the cord

The phone charges inside the concealed drawer, cable routed out of sight, screen face-down. Mornings start with autumn sun across the bed instead of a lit-up notification, which was the whole point.

Nothing to vacuum around

Nothing to vacuum around

Saturday cleaning takes one pass — the vacuum glides straight under the floating body, no legs to bump, no dust corner behind them. A small thing, but you feel it every single week.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain wraps the contoured body and drawer front — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Low morning sun traces it up the rounded edge like a warm line.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and rounded edges, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin. Low-VOC and nothing to off-gas, which matters most in the room you sleep in.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with shrinkage about half that of oak, the small case stays square and the drawer keeps sliding true when winter heat swings the bedroom dry.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left outdoors, teak weathers to a paper-thin silver-grey. Indoors it deepens toward honey instead; a light sanding and fresh oil bring the nightstand's gold back whenever the top starts to look thirsty.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled by thirty-year selectors, kiln-dried twenty days, and matched so the grain flows across the body and drawer front as one piece. Flawed stock never qualifies.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The contoured body is traced from templates and cut slightly proud of the line, leaving material for the rounded edges to come.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Every corner is softened and sanded through five grits — this is furniture found by hand in the dark, so nothing may catch a knuckle.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the drawer's glide and the mount before it is signed out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are the nightstands constructed?
Solid wood down to the drawer boxes, with dovetailed or pinned corners — small casework built the way full-size dressers used to be. No particleboard tray means nothing to off-gas beside your pillow.
Can I match the height to my bed?
Yes. Each nightstand is made to order, so height can match your mattress top, and depth can shrink for a narrow bedside wall. Pairs are built together from matching stock so they read as siblings, not strangers.
Is there any assembly?
This floating design mounts to the wall on a concealed bracket — hardware and a drilling template are included. Anchor into a stud where possible; most installs take under half an hour with a drill and a level.
What care keeps them looking right?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth, use a coaster under the water glass, and re-oil the top yearly when it looks thirsty. A white ring lifts with a warm dry iron, and the drawer runners like an occasional rub of wax.
How do nightstands ship?
Made to order and double-boxed with the drawer secured for transit. Pairs ship together; photograph the boxes before the driver leaves and note any damage, and tracking is emailed when they leave.
