These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly
Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Shipping & returns
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Each basin is carved from a single solid walnut blank, its silhouette drawn from the way water actually moves. The carver follows the grain through curls and mineral streaks, hollows the bowl by hand — no veneer, no seams, one piece of wood — then seals it inside and out with a water-resistant, non-toxic finish made for daily running water.
The worry with a wooden sink is always the same: will it hold water, or warp the first month. Walnut's density and a marine-grade seal answer both, and the wood was kiln-dried before carving, so it arrived done moving. Guests wash their hands over chocolate grain instead of white porcelain, and more than one has asked, still drying off, where you found it.

Gunstock toughness
At about 1,010 on the Janka scale, walnut absorbs the daily knocks of bottles, razors, and rings against the rim without turning brittle. A mark that does land spot-sands and re-oils at home in minutes — gunstock resilience at the sink.

The basin's exterior settles into a warmer, more personal patina with each year of light and use, growing softer in tone rather than tired — deepening indoors, not silvering, since that takes outdoor weather.
From plank to piece.
The wood selection
A single dense walnut blank is chosen for figure that will wrap the bowl, then kiln-dried until the moisture meter says done. Stock with checks or dull grain never becomes a sink.
The shaping process
The organic silhouette is traced, then the bowl is hollowed slightly proud of its final line — leaving material for the handwork inside the curve.
The hand refinement
Inside and rim are sanded through successive grits until the curve runs unbroken under a wet palm, not merely looks smooth.
The final inspection
The waterproof sealer goes on in thin coats, cured between each. Drain fit, level, and finish are checked before the sink ships.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

Can a wooden sink actually hold water?

What sizes work with my counter?
Diameters and depths are made to order within plumbing-standard limits. Tell us your counter depth and faucet reach, and we will confirm a size that splashes less and drains well.
What does installation require?
Sinks arrive pre-drilled for a standard 1.75-inch drain and sit on any flat counter. A plumber completes the drain fitting; no special parts are needed.
How do I keep the seal healthy?
Rinse and towel the basin after heavy use and skip abrasive cleaners, which strip any seal. Reapply the recommended sealer on schedule — yearly for most bathrooms — and the bowl stays waterproof; a marine finish fails gracefully and touches up, unlike a film that peels.
How is a sink packed?
Every sink is made to order and ships foam-cradled in a rigid double-walled box. Tracking arrives by email the day the sink leaves the workshop.
Can you drill the holes for my specific faucet and drain?
Yes. Share your drain and faucet hole measurements when you order and we drill them at the workshop, so the sink arrives ready for your plumber. This bowl measures 14 by 10 inches and 5 inches deep.
