Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Floating vanity

Small bathroom, one strong line

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A single teak shelf that makes a small bath feel deliberate.

The designers drew one clean, wall-hung line — 16 inches wide, 8 tall — and let the live edge do the talking. A maker with thirty years at the lumber stacks picks the teak board for grain, then a twenty-day kiln pulls the moisture out before the first cut, so bathroom steam finds nothing left to move. The front is shaped by hand and sealed with waterproof and PU coats for a soft, honest sheen.

A small bath punishes the wrong furniture — a floor cabinet eats the doorway swing and the room shrinks around it. Hung clear of the tile, this shelf gives the floor back and the room reads larger than the tape says. Teak is no gamble here; it is the wood of commercial steam rooms, wetter than any home bath, doing quiet work where cheaper species swell and stick.

  • Floats clear of the floor, so tight baths read larger
  • Sealed teak takes daily splash and shower steam
  • Holds a vessel sink with room for soap and towel
  • Live edge gives a powder room its one strong line
  • Three depth options — 18, 20, or 22 inches

It fits real homes.

The powder room

The powder room

The smallest room in the house finally gets real furniture. Hand soap, a folded towel, a sprig of eucalyptus on the teak — before a dinner party the guest bath becomes the one people mention on the way out.

Floor stays clear

Floor stays clear

Nothing touches the tile below. The mop passes under in one stroke, the bath mat lies flat, and the little room stays easy to keep spotless — the quiet gift of hanging the whole thing off the wall.

Around the shelf

Around the shelf

The Saturday repaint started with a paint chip held against the teak. Now the whole small bathroom takes its cue from one live-edge line, the towels chosen to sit a half-shade warmer than the wood.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the width of the shelf face — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Even under cool bathroom LEDs it stays honey, not grey.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. Under the waterproof topcoat, the shelf keeps a warm golden tone with a light satin a wet hand meets smooth, never slick — and no chemical smell to fill a closed, steamy room.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the shelf stays flat and true through years of shower steam and AC cycling.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Left untended, teak would drift toward a refined silver-grey — a surface change only, and indoor air never starts it. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the shelf back to gold anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Teak boards are pulled one at a time for grain worth showing at eye level, then dried twenty days in a controlled kiln. Twisted or dull stock never becomes a vanity.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The shelf is cut slightly proud of the line, the live edge kept exactly as the tree drew it for the handwork ahead.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Face and edge are sanded through successive grits until the surface feels right where wet hands land every day.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Waterproof and PU coats cure thin and even. The maker checks seal, level, and mounting points before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Why teak for a wall-hung vanity?
Wall-hung and built from solid teak — the one furniture wood that belongs in a bathroom. Its natural oils and silica shrug off steam and splash the way ship decks and spa benches have for a century, not a coating that can peel at the water line.
What sizes and depths can I order, and is a sink included?
This shelf runs 16 inches wide and 8 tall, with three depths — 18, 20, or 22 inches. The price includes one wooden shelf only, no sink and no faucet; the surface arrives sealed with waterproof and PU coats. For other sizes, message us and we will advise.
What does installation require?
A concealed steel hanging rail carries the vanity; it must anchor into studs or blocking. Plumbing hookup uses standard US fittings — most plumbers complete installation in under an hour.
How do I keep the teak golden?
Wipe standing water from the counter after use and run the fan — black spots are mildew on soap film, not the wood failing. A light re-oiling every few months keeps a daily-shower bath golden; a powder room may need it once a year or less.
How is the vanity delivered?
Every vanity is made to order and freight-crated with the rail, hardware, and templates packed inside. Tracking and a scheduled delivery window are provided on every order.
