Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.
These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.
Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.
Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.
Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece
The slab comes first: one teak board kept at its natural edge, chosen by a selector with thirty years at the stacks for grain that runs long and calm across forty inches. Twenty days in a controlled kiln settle the moisture before the first cut, so the top holds flat by a drafty front door. The designer worked it for real hallways — thirty inches tall, twelve deep.
An entry with nowhere to land keys spreads its clutter through the whole house. Here it stops at the door: keys and mail on teak instead of a side chair, a lamp warming the hall at dusk. Twelve inches deep, it holds the wall without crowding a tight passage — the piece that makes the place feel owned the day it lands.
Seven-forty on a school morning: keys, a backpack, and a travel mug hit the same twelve inches every day, one kid perched on the floor to fight a shoe. Everyone is out the door in thirty seconds, and the clutter stops here instead of the kitchen counter.
Thanksgiving arrivals stack the entry with coats and a casserole still warm. Between hugs, an uncle rests a hand on the live edge and asks where you found it — the bark line does the talking before you answer.
First cold Saturday of fall: summer shells and a sun hat come off the top, a small lamp and a bowl for gloves go on. Ten minutes, and the hallway has changed seasons before the coffee goes cold.

Tight, straight, even grain runs the full forty-inch length of the top — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Trace it with a thumb and the ridges barely register; it reads as one long line.
Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and its live edge, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that never feels like plastic — and the first weeks of hall light warm it another shade.
At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the slab top rides out the winter swing when forced-air heat drops a hall toward fifteen percent humidity.
Left alone in a bright entry, teak deepens toward honey rather than graying — silvering needs outdoor sun and rain. A light sanding and fresh oil reset the tone whenever you like.
Selectors with thirty years at the stacks pull teak slabs one at a time for a live edge with real character, then dry them twenty days in a controlled kiln. Stock with twist, checks, or dull figure never makes the cut.
The top is bandsawn slightly proud of its line, the natural edge preserved — leaving material for the handwork that sets its final profile.
Top, legs, and the bark line are sanded through successive grits until every edge feels right against an open palm.
Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks joints, level, and finish before the console is signed out.
One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.
