Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Makeup vanity

Twenty unhurried minutes at your mirror

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A vanity built around twenty unhurried minutes a day.

The designers studied the ritual before the silhouette: mirror at seated eye level, drawers shallow enough that nothing hides at the bottom, legs curved to clear a knee. The teak spends twenty days in the kiln before an artisan shapes each curve and dovetails the drawer boxes by hand, so nothing swells shut when the furnace runs. The oil finish is repairable — powder and remover never earn a trip to a refinisher.

If the last vanity was a flat-pack whose drawer front swelled one humid August and never closed square again, this is the correction — solid teak drawer boxes riding true from Gulf-humid July to furnace-dry January. It arrives smelling faintly of wood rather than finish, and the twenty minutes it holds each morning stay yours for decades, in a piece you chose once instead of replaced twice.

  • Sit and see: the mirror lands at seated eye level, in daylight
  • Nothing buried: shallow drawers keep cosmetics visible, not stacked deep
  • Powder, remover, and perfume wipe off the oiled teak top
  • Knee clearance under the curved apron fits a bench or stool
  • Doubles as a writing table when the room needs one

It fits real homes.

Before the school run

Before the school run

Six forty on a Tuesday, first daylight reaching the mirror, lunches still unmade. Twenty minutes at the teak top before anyone needs anything — powder brushed on, coffee cooling on the corner, the calmest stretch of the whole day claimed before it starts.

The wedding weekend

The wedding weekend

Saturday, an out-of-town wedding at five. Earrings laid out on the wood, the good perfume lifted from its drawer, someone downstairs calling that the car is here. This vanity has staged every big night out for years, and never once shifted under a leaning elbow.

The apprentice

The apprentice

Sunday afternoon light. A daughter kneels on the bench, borrowing a hair clip and watching the mirror the exact way her mother does. The low drawer has quietly become hers — the first real furniture she will remember growing up around.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs across the tabletop and drawer fronts — calm enough that low morning light moves over it without glare, which matters more at a mirror than anywhere else in the house.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and the curved legs, to a warm satin that feels like wood under a bare wrist. Powder wipes off; a splash of remover flashes off without ghosting the surface the way a lacquer film clouds.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Solid teak stands planted while you lean into the mirror. Dried until the moisture meter says done, the top stays flat and both drawers slide true through winter furnace air — just keep the piece a couple of feet from a supply vent.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the gold only deepens — teak will not silver without outdoor rain and sun. If daily products dull the top by year five, a light sanding and fresh oil bring back day one in about twenty minutes.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time and matched by tone across top, drawers, and legs, so the finished vanity reads as one piece under mirror light. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The curved legs and mirror frame are traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line so the spokeshave and rasp have material to fair every curve by hand.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

The top and every leg curve are sanded through five successive grits until they feel right against an open palm, not merely look right in a photo.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker waxes the drawer runners, cycles each drawer, and checks mirror fit and level before sign-out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What makes the vanity top hold up to daily products?
The top is solid teak — no MDF core, no printed veneer — sanded through five grits and finished with natural oil. Powder and spills wipe off, and if remover ever dulls a patch, that spot sands and re-oils at home in minutes. A veneer top cannot survive that repair even once; sand through the printed layer and it is done.
What can be customized?
Vanities are built to order, so width, height, drawer count, and mirror options all adjust to your room and your seated height. A 36-inch build with one drawer suits most bedrooms; corner builds and taller mirrors are available too. Nothing is cut until your measurements are in.
How much assembly is there?
The table arrives assembled; the mirror, where included, bolts to the back rail with two fittings in about ten minutes. All hardware and the key ship inside the drawer — no wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How should I clean the surface?
Wipe up cosmetics and alcohol-based products promptly — they are harder on a finish than water. A soft damp cloth daily and fresh oil twice a year is the whole routine, and because the oil finish is repairable, nothing that happens at a vanity is permanent.
How is a vanity delivered?
Made to order and packed with the mirror and table cradled separately, vanities ship with full tracking. Larger builds travel freight with a scheduled window — check both cartons on arrival and note anything on the receipt before signing, so we can put it right fast.
Is the framed mirror included with this vanity?
Yes — this design ships with its matching teak-framed mirror, built from the same stock as the table so the grain and tone agree. It bolts to the back rail in about ten minutes, or can be omitted at order time if you plan to hang your own.
