Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Nightstand

The last thing you touch each night

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

Eighteen inches of order beside the bed.

Our designers kept the case honest — sixteen inches wide, eighteen tall and deep, proportions worked out against real mattresses and real bedside reach. An artisan selects the teak boards, builds the cabinet and drawer box by hand, and finishes it in natural oils and waxes until the surface asks to be touched. Solid teak down to the drawer sides, no particleboard.

A nightstand sits closer to your face for eight hours than any piece you own, so the last thing it should do is off-gas. This one arrives smelling faintly of woodshop, not chemicals — no particleboard core, no formaldehyde glue, a natural oil finish that is food-safe once cured. Solid, calm, and clearly made by someone, the piece people notice when they linger at your bedroom door.

  • Top holds a lamp, a book stack, and the water glass
  • Sixteen-inch width fits a narrow bedside wall without crowding
  • Drawer keeps chargers and tissues out of nightly sight
  • Works beside a reading chair or in a nook too
  • Oil-and-wax finish feels warm under a sleepy hand

It fits real homes.

One more chapter

One more chapter

The lamp clicks on, the book comes off the stack, and the reading glasses know exactly where they live. Bedtime negotiations happen on this eighteen-inch top nightly, a water glass parked at the edge, warm oiled wood underhand.

The midnight reach

The midnight reach

2 a.m., no lights on. A hand finds the water glass on the first try because the teak edge is exactly where it always is, and the drawer slides without a creak to wake anyone. That is the whole job, done well.

Morning inventory

Morning inventory

7 a.m.: watch, wallet, keys, phone — laid out the night before, collected in one pass. The cabinet keeps the day's first five minutes from becoming a search party, a felt-lined drawer holding what the top does not.

Made to order

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs across the top and down the cabinet face — the calm figure that made teak the wood collectors ask for by name. Warm to a sleepy hand at 2 a.m., never the chill of a metal frame.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own oils. We hand-rub oils and waxes into the case for a warm satin that never feels like plastic — and a bedside piece that smells like wood, with nothing to off-gas beside your pillow.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the small case stays square and the drawer slides true when winter heat dries the bedroom to 20% humidity.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the top mellows gracefully with light and years — a skin-deep change only. A light sanding and fresh oil bring the gold back anytime, so a dropped watch or a ring mark never becomes permanent.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by a selector with decades at the lumber stacks, matched by tone and grain across the case. Twisted or dull stock never qualifies.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The compact case is cut from templates, a hair proud of the line, leaving material for the fitting and handwork that follow.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top, face, and edges are sanded through five successive grits until each corner feels right against an open palm, not merely looks right.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oils and waxes go on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the case for square and the drawer for a smooth slide before it ships.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

How are the nightstands constructed?
Nightstands here are solid teak down to the drawer boxes, with dovetailed or pinned corners — small casework built the way full-size dressers used to be, no particleboard drawer bottoms to sag.
What size is this side cabinet?
This build measures 16 inches wide, 18 tall, and 18 deep — scaled beside most beds without crowding the wall. Height can be matched to your mattress on request, and pairs are built from matching stock.
Is there any assembly?
Nightstands ship fully assembled — drawers fitted and waxed at the workshop. Unbox, place, and load the bedtime books; there is no hardware step at all.
What care keeps them looking right?
Wipe with a slightly damp cloth and use a coaster under the water glass; a white ring lifts with a cloth and a warm, dry iron in seconds. Re-oil the top yearly, and rub the drawer runners with paraffin now and then.
How do nightstands ship?
Each nightstand is made to order and double-boxed with the drawer secured for transit. Pairs ship together; photograph the box before the driver leaves, and tracking is emailed when the boxes leave.
