Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coffee table

A low table that slows the room

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A low table that holds a room still.

The brief was restraint: a low profile, clean lines, a surface that lets the wood do the talking. Makers pick teak boards for calm, even figure, join them tight, and sand the eased edges by hand. The finish is penetrating oil, not a film — it feels like wood because your hand is on wood.

Showroom furniture photographs well and touches badly — cold gloss, hollow knock. This table is the opposite bet: a top you cross with a flat palm mid-sentence without noticing you are doing it. Evenings settle around a lower center of gravity, and the room's best object is also its most handled.

  • Low profile keeps sightlines open across the whole room
  • Broad top hosts tea, puzzles, and floor-level dinners
  • Water rings wipe from the oiled teak without ghosting
  • Height builds to match your sofa's seat exactly

It fits real homes.

Records and wine

Records and wine

Friday, 9 pm, no screens on. A record turning, two glasses on the teak, lamplight catching the low sheen of oiled grain. The apartment is quiet the way only deliberate rooms are.

The January puzzle

The January puzzle

A Sunday in January, 4 pm, a thousand pieces spread edge to edge. Everyone works at floor level for once, forearms resting on wood a shade warmer than the room, and the low top turns out to be built for exactly this.

Saturday, no ghost

Saturday, no ghost

Book club ran late and a wine glass stood on the bare teak overnight. Saturday morning the ring wipes away with a cloth — no ghost, no panic, no refinishing quote. The oil took the hit and asked for nothing.

Every piece is made to order, and dimensions vary from one to the next. Need a different size for your space? Tell us your measurements and we'll build it to fit.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight, even grain runs the length of the low top — the calm figure collectors ask for by name — and under a flat palm it reads a shade warmer than the room.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into the broad top. The result is a warm satin with a faint woodshop scent on delivery day and no gloss glare at lamp height.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, dried until the moisture meter says done, the wide top stays flat from December furnace air through August humidity.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Daily use only deepens the top's golden tone — indoors it will never gray. Whenever it dulls, a light sanding and fresh oil restore the glow in an afternoon at home.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time and matched for calm, even figure across the whole top; loud or twisted stock never qualifies.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The low profile is laid out from templates, then cut slightly proud of the line — leaving material for the handwork that trues each edge against a straightedge.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top and edges are sanded by hand through successive grits, the arris eased just enough to be kind to shins and floor cushions.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker checks the joints, sights the top for level against the window light, and signs the table out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop really solid wood?
Solid wood through the full thickness of the top, with no veneer and no particleboard core — which is why it can be sanded and refinished for generations. Most tops are teak, whose own oils shrug off sweating glasses and late spills. Those boards are hand-selected and then kiln-dried for twenty days at a controlled temperature, so a top this wide stays flat when the furnace runs and never cups or checks.
Can I adjust the size or height?
Standard sizes fit most sofas, but each table is built after you order, so length, height, and shape can be adjusted. Two inches lower for a deep sofa is a common request.
How much assembly is required?
Most designs arrive fully assembled; a few ship with legs off to protect them in transit. Those bolt on in minutes with the included key — no separate tools needed.
How do I care for the top?
Coasters are optional. Wipe spills when you see them; a stubborn white ring lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron in about thirty seconds. A thin coat of oil once or twice a year keeps the top rich.
How are coffee tables delivered?
Coffee tables are made to order, wrapped, corner-blocked, and crated when size demands. You get tracking at dispatch and a heads-up before any freight delivery is scheduled — note any damage on the receipt before signing.
What sofas does a low-profile table suit?
The low, classic profile is drawn for deep, low-slung sofas and floor-level seating. Because every table is built to order, we can match the height to your sofa's seat — send the measurement and we will build to it.
