Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

Solid teak · Coffee table

Built low, built for feet up

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

A low table built for the middle of daily life.

The proportions came first — a top low enough to reach from the sofa cushions, lines plain enough to sit quietly in any room. The wood follows: boards matched for grain across a full-thickness solid top, no veneer to sand through, shaped and oiled by hand after three slow weeks in the kiln.

This is the surface the crayons, the controllers, and the dog's tail all find first, so it wears a finish that forgives — a scuff blends into patina, and a deeper mark sands out and re-oils at home in ten minutes. Years in, the marks read as the record of a good run, and the table is still yours to fix.

  • Top sits within easy reach of sofa cushions
  • Holds coffee, books, remotes, and a board game at once
  • Kneeling height works for kids and floor seating
  • Marks sand out and re-oil at home in minutes
  • Plays well with the wood you already own

It fits real homes.

Saturday, first cup

Saturday, first cup

7:15 on Saturday, house still quiet, the first coffee of the weekend on the low top. Feet up, paper open, the oil sheen catching early sun down the full length of the boards.

Crayons at kneeling height

Crayons at kneeling height

The low profile puts the top at kneeling height, so the kids spread markers and a five-hundred-piece Lego build across it and stay the whole afternoon. Homework lands there at four; nobody polices it.

The tail test

The tail test

A 60-pound dog sweeps the corner twice a night on the way to the door. Nobody flinches — the wood was chosen for exactly this house, and the leash hangs ten feet away.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the full length of the top, and in evening lamplight the oiled figure picks up a low sheen you can watch move as you cross the room.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils; we hand-rub more into top and legs. A sweating glass leaves a ring that wipes away, and under a palm the surface stays wood-warm, never plastic.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

At roughly 700 kilograms per cubic meter, the top arrives as a two-person lift. Kiln-dried for twenty days, it has finished its moving — winters of forced-air heat pass without a gap opening.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors this teak will not silver — that takes outdoor sun and rain. It deepens slowly toward caramel instead, and a light sanding with fresh oil resets the tone whenever you choose.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Boards are pulled one at a time by selectors with thirty years at the stacks, matched by tone and grain across the top. Twist or checks never make the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The low profile is traced from templates, then bandsawn slightly proud of the line — a saw-width of spare material left for the handwork.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top and legs are sanded by hand through five grits, coarse to fine, until each eased edge feels right against an open palm.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker racks the table on a flat bench, checks every joint, and signs it out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

Is the tabletop really solid wood?
Yes — solid wood through the full thickness of the top, in teak whose natural oils shrug off sweating glasses and Friday-night spills. There is no veneer to sand through, which is why this top can be refinished for decades.
Can I adjust the size or height?
Standard sizes fit most sofas, but each table is built after you order, so length, height, and shape can be adjusted. Two inches lower for a deep sofa is the most common request we get.
How much assembly is required?
Most designs arrive fully assembled; a few ship with legs off to protect them in transit. Those bolt on in minutes with the included key — no wordless diagrams, no leftover screw.
How do I care for the top?
Coasters help but are not a rule; wipe spills when you see them. Re-oil once or twice a year when the surface looks thirsty — and keep the table a couple of feet from heat vents in winter.
How are coffee tables delivered?
Coffee tables are made to order, wrapped, corner-blocked, and crated when size demands. You get tracking at dispatch and a scheduling call before any freight delivery — photograph the crate before the driver leaves, just in case.
How low does this low-profile design sit?
This table is deliberately lower than a standard coffee table, sized for lounging, floor seating, and deep sofas. Since every piece is made to order, tell us your sofa's seat height and we will match the table to it.
