Natural wood, one piece at a time

Wood grain, knots, edge contours, and color naturally vary from piece to piece. Product images show the expected character rather than an identical grain pattern.

General care

These products are not waterproof. Their durable wood-and-finish construction is designed to handle ordinary accidental spills when liquid is wiped up promptly. Avoid standing water, soaking, submersion, and harsh cleaners.

Dimensions & assembly

Exact dimensions for each size are listed on the option you select above. Most pieces arrive fully assembled; wall-mounted designs include hardware and a template. Measure doorways and stair turns before ordering — most pieces pass a standard 32-inch doorway.

Care: wipe with a soft, dry cloth and oil the grain once or twice a year to keep the surface nourished.

Shipping & returns

Your piece ships free in a protective wooden crate. Freight delivery comes with a scheduled window and tracking; white-glove service — carried inside, placed, packaging removed — is available at checkout.

Returns: 30 days from payment. Pieces need to be unused and in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup and walk you through repacking. Damaged or defective on arrival? We repair, replace or refund at no cost. Made-to-order pieces can be changed or cancelled while the build has not started.

The piece

Plate I
Plate II

The first thing your home says is handmade.

The top keeps its live edge — the line the tree grew, not one a machine cut — so no two builds are alike, and yours will not exactly match the photos. That is the point. Our designers set the organic front against a clean farmhouse silhouette; the artisan works the wane by hand and oils the grain until the figure stands up.

An entry table takes the hardest daily traffic in the house — keys, wet gloves, dropped mail — which is exactly where flat-pack surfaces give out first. This slab spent twenty days in a temperature-controlled kiln before the first cut, and the oiled top spot-repairs at home in ten minutes. It greets everyone twice a day and looks better for the work.

  • Catches keys, mail, and phones without looking cluttered
  • Slim depth suits entries and narrow hallways
  • Holds a lamp and photos behind a sofa
  • Live edge makes every build one of a kind
  • Oiled teak wipes dry after wet-glove season

It fits real homes.

The launch pad

The launch pad

7:40 on a school morning: keys, lunchboxes, and one permission slip staged along the slab, a kid on the doorstep fighting a shoe. Everything out the door in thirty seconds.

Drawing the line

Drawing the line

First weekend in the wall-less loft, the console lands behind the sofa and the room finally has a boundary — living ends here, dining begins there. They taped the outline on the floor before ordering.

Holiday bar duty

Holiday bar duty

It has been the bar since December 12th — punch bowl, stacked glasses, a month of condensation rings that wipe off the oiled teak on the 26th while the host finally exhales.

Teak, up close.

Grain that reads quiet

Tight, straight grain runs the length of the slab and breaks into wilder figure right at the live edge — run a thumb along the wane and you can feel where the bark held on.

Grain that reads quiet

The finish nature applied

Teak carries its own natural oils. We hand-rub more into the top and along the wane, deepening the golden tone to a warm satin that catches the lamp at the door each evening.

The finish nature applied

Density you can feel

Knock on the top and it answers solid — none of the hollow note a veneer top gives away — and with some of the lowest shrinkage of any hardwood, the slab stays flat from wet-glove January to open-window August.

Density you can feel

Golden now, silver whenever

Indoors the gold only deepens — silvering needs outdoor sun and rain. If the entry light mellows it over the years, a light sanding and fresh oil bring the top back anytime.

Golden now, silver whenever

From plank to piece.

The wood selection

The wood selection

Slabs are pulled one at a time for a live edge worth keeping — strong figure, sound wane — by selectors with thirty years at the lumber stacks. Twisted or dull stock never makes the cut.

The shaping process

The shaping process

The silhouette is traced from templates and cut slightly proud of the line, while the natural edge is cleaned by hand with a drawknife touch, never straightened.

The hand refinement

The hand refinement

Top and wane are sanded by hand through five grits until the bark line feels smooth to a passing hand at the door.

The final inspection

The final inspection

Oil goes on in thin coats, buffed between each. The maker sets the console against a straightedge wall, checks level and stance, and signs it out.

One maker follows each piece from rough plank to the final coat of oil, and signs off before it is crated.

The Timber Vintique workshop

No two boards alike

The grain that arrives is yours alone.

  1. Every board is cut from a different tree — the photos here are a reference, not a promise.
  2. Your piece is photographed in the workshop before it ships, so you see your exact grain.
  3. Small knots and mineral streaks come with real wood. We leave them in.

Delivery, done properly.

White-glove option

Choose white-glove and the crew brings the piece inside, places it in the room, and removes every bit of packaging.

Crated for freight

Each piece travels in its own wooden crate with corner protection, built to cross the country without a scuff.

Scheduled window

You get a delivery appointment and tracking — not a truck that shows up unannounced.

Honest returns

30 days from payment. If it isn't right — unused, in original condition — we arrange the freight pickup. Made-to-order terms are stated up front.

Questions customers usually ask

What are the console tables made from?
Solid wood — often a single continuous slab for the top — hand-finished so the grain, knots, and natural edge remain part of the piece. No veneer, no particleboard core, which is why the top can be sanded and refinished for decades.
Do you build to fit narrow hallways?
Consoles are made to order, so length and depth adjust to your hallway or entry. A narrow ten-inch depth for tight halls is one of our most common builds — measure the passage and the doorway turn before ordering, and we will build to both.
Will I need to assemble it?
Most consoles arrive assembled. Designs with sculptural bases ship in two parts that join with pre-fitted bolts — a ten-minute job for one person with the included key, no wordless diagrams.
What care does a console need?
Dust with a soft cloth and wipe up water from vases and umbrellas promptly. An annual oiling keeps the top ready for daily keys and mail — and a white ring from a wet glass lifts with a cloth and a warm dry iron.
How is a console packed?
Every console is made to order and packed in a fitted crate or double-walled carton with rigid corner guards. Photograph the packaging before the driver leaves and note anything on the receipt — if damage got through, we make it right.
What exactly is a live edge — will mine match the photos?
A live edge keeps the natural contour of the tree along the front of the top instead of a straight sawn line. Because that contour is grown, not cut, your table's edge will be close in spirit to the photos but never identical — that is the point.
